i had issues with trying to send a photo by mms. starting reading about the APN changes. I did what i thought was the appropriate changes.
MMS proxy 74.49.0.18 to mmscproxy.mobility.ca
it didnt seem to work at all. I decided to switch back APN can still receive but cant send any texts sms at all now? RCS chats are working.

I have done everyone suggested in this thread so far. So what happened that caused me to "break my phone" seeing i could send texts just fine now i cant at all?? I was mid conversation when i couldnt send a photo but could text just fine. After neither work now.

@JohnTHQ1

Have you tried sending texts to different numbers, or is it always to the same number? Could the problem be at the other end?

did a "network reset" took out my sim reinserted it. still no difference. still cant send a text message. still can receive and RCS is fine. Yeah i dont have another SIM or another phone. Everything but sending texts work....this sounds kinda like they dont want Ulefones sending texts.

@JohnTHQ1

The APN settings we are changing would affects only data and MMS.  SMS does not need the APN

try to Reset all networks again and see if sms starts working.  And try the sim card in another phone

i tried both last night. a new APN via the plus button or editing an existing one. this is so frustrating as it worked before i changed the settings. change back still not working.

@JohnTHQ1  yes, the brand matters.  We see different APN tweaks based on the brands

try two things, update:

MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator)value: 4D4F

and if that does not work, try also to recreate a new APN profile based on what I have above instead of updating the existing one.  The net new APN profiles instead of updating existing one is needed for some brand

while you create a new one, try both 4D and 4D4F for MVNO

just tried this still, cant send 😞

@JohnTHQ1 try clear cache

and try using Google Message app as the default messaging app.  If you are using it already, uninstall and reinstall (and of course, backup important text first)

APN settings don't control SMS, but do control MMS.  Wrong APN settings also prevent RCS from working if the settings for data are set wrong.   Try using a APN type setting of default,mms and see if that works.
