As tile says CAN/US /MEX plans have arrived community wow weeee have a look 👀
Black Friday sales shaping up to be the best ever

@DJSSB Ah yes, that's a different issue. There were some plans that included additional long distance minutes to other countries such as China and the UK (in addition to US/Mex). They saw the extra long distance minutes one one screen, but not on the screen where they went to change the plan on.

@DennyCrane OOh This LD includes to mobile or landline numbers?
I know many providers are restrictive for one or the other. Ie: charging more for Mobile numbers with Long Distance calls.
Thanks again.

Thank you @DennyCrane
Much appreciated,
I wasn’t sure because there was a post about not seeing LD minutes with these BF plans when activating so I was confused.
But that seems to be for a few other countries only.
Cheers.

@DJSSB It includes any combination of the above. You can call all 3 countries from any of the 3 countries.

I just ported to PM from Fido for the $35/50 Can-US-MEX plan
5G and 50GB should be good.
Couple of questions;
1. Does this plan also include long distance to both USA or Mexico from Canada?
2. Or only local calling when you travel/while roaming?
Thanks!
yesterday
HI @Wm2
calling from Canada or US or Mexico to Canada ro US or Mexico are included
but because 3G is decommissioned in US already, you can only make calls in US if you have a VoLTE phone that is whitelisted with PM. Check the list here
yesterday
if you are talking about the roaming plan , then yes, the unlimited minutes included , you can call within the 3 countries for free, unlimited
yesterday
Does the unlimited minutes include long distance and roaming charges?
Sunday
I switched my daughter's Virginmobile (CAD45 with 75GB CAN) to PM (CAD35 with 50 CAN/US/MEX)..even with the lower data allocation, I think it is still a win. We can always switch to wifi and won't consume the 50GB...the US/MEX roaming is a huge plus. I was hoping for the 50% off 3 months, but well...this is still better.
Wednesday
Same here! its stupid as its prepaid plans, shouldn't restrict this way!
Wednesday
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/mb/plana9wzhuxpwpm?network=ALL does include the 500 long distance minutes for the $35 CAN US MEX plan, but when you select it, you have to login. And when you login, you will see the $35 CAN US MEX plan WITHOUT the 500 long distance minutes.
Wednesday
The $35 plan is there for me, but the 500 Long distance minutes is NOT but the 500 minutes does show up at https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/mb/plana9wzhuxpwpm?network=ALL
Wednesday
thanks @DennyCrane , yes, you are guys were correct, the LD minutes are not there
I am not too sure it just now included or PM missed putting it there. I would be surprised they have have 2 different $35 roaming plans
Wednesday
@hTideGnow Does it show up with the LD minutes for you? I still saw the regular version without the 500min. I even cancelled my scheduled plan change to see if it would pop up, but I just got the regular version again. Makes me wonder if the 500 are there, but it just doesn't show on the plan change screen.
Wednesday
hi @Genuine
no, it is not for new activation only. You link you posted didn't say that either
and this $35 plan shows up on some customers' My Account too
However, with the target marketing PM is using, not everyone got this plan. There is bigger chance for people with $35 plan or under will see this $35 roaming plan
Wednesday
Great find! Where do see that it says New Customers only? I tried to change to it and it doesn't show as an option though (I'm still on the $34/50GB Can/US plan with a scheduled change for next week to the $35/50GB Can/US/Mex plan (with no 500 minutes LD).
Wednesday
They added 500 Long Distance minutes to the $35 CAN USA MEX plan - the LD minutes are available ONLY to new customers ONLY at this Link https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/mb/plana9wzhuxpwpm?network=ALL
Wednesday
hi @Mexicowboy
it is not new activation only. But not everyone sees all 4 Canada/US/Mex roaming plans as PM is using targeted marketing now
So, there are now $29, $35, $45, and $55 roaming plans. You should see at least $45 and $55, for the $29 and $35, you might or might not see it depends on your current plan
Login My Account and go to Change Subscription to check
Wednesday
Question: it seems unclear whether this is restricted to new customers only. Can you clarify whether existing subscribers can move to a new plan at these prices?
Wednesday
That’s what I did! Had to pay for new $30 plan but moving forward I’ll have the one that suits me best. 👍👍
Tuesday
HI @1Savager do you see a $30 plan? A workaround is to use Change Now to change to a $30 plan first. With that, you might see the $35 roaming plan and you can then schedule a plan change after
Tuesday
50g Can/Us for $39
Would like Mexico also for $35 I do not need anymore Data at this time

Same here trying to figure out if we can upgrade somehow ??

1) Data stops. No unlimited throttled data.
2) My Telus line allows all of the above, so I suspect it's the same:

Additional questions:
1. What happens when you exhaust all of your 50GB data plan, will the data stop to work, or will it reduced to low speeds and you will be able still receive emails and do basic stuff like whatsapp ?
2. Some one confirmed that you can call / text from
CAN -> US, CAN-> MEX,
MEX -> CAN, MEX->US,
US->CAN, US->MEX
Will domestic calls and text be covered as well means US -> US, MEX->MEX , CAN-CAN ??

Hi hTideGnow, I asked a similar question yesterday on CAN US MEX data plan using mobimatter vs upgrading here - do you know how bad the latency is or if it’s something where if you’re at cancun for instance it won’t really be noticeable? I heard my hotels wifi might be spotty so not sure if 10GB of data will be enough for me for a week’s stay if I have bad wifi and limited data since it’s more expensive than simply paying $5 more on top of my existing plan for this. I just want to be able to hotpot to my iPad if necessary. Thanks!

hi @sam97
this is true for roaming with all carriers. Alright you are using the other carriers, all traffic will come back to Telus network first. And also true VPN would not change that
While there can be additional latency, but that is minor enough that won't be noticible

"When roaming in USA or Mexico, data traffic is routed back to Canada, resulting in additional latency. Even using VPN will not mitigate this." is this true?

@sam97 wrote:I have the following queries for 35 CAD per Month (USA-CAN-MEXICO):
- Can I make calls to the USA and Mexico from Canada?
- Can I make calls to Canada and Mexico while I'm in the USA?
- Can I make calls to the USA and Canada while I'm in Mexico?
Same questions are also for DATA.
Yes, all are included.
