Blocking calls

Is there a way that people who call my number need to hit a specific number in order to connect.  I believe Telus has his option

you have to understand while PM is owned by Telus, they are different companies.  PM is a tier 3 and only provide basic service.

If you need the extra bells and whistles, you will need to check with Koodo or Telus.

So many unknown calls and texts that it is too much work to screen. My cellphone should be able to automatically block if I choose

That is unacceptable PublicMobile.  Telus has this option for landlines.

That is a good way to handle spammers.

BUT, some medical offices provide 'unknown caller' message (and if they want to talk to you and leave a message good luck getting through when you call them) so it is really toss up what practice should be applied to answer calls.

I refuse to answer calls from number I don't recognize or expect to call me. If the call is legit, they're given opportunity to leave a message and I can call /em back...if I wish. Once the bad guys know you'll answer any caller...well...you know what will happen then !

@Pearwasp1958 , Public Mobile does not have any call control features.  This is a tier 3 brand with limited features at a budget price.  You can use the phone app to screen calls.
