Hi I've decided to go back to previous carrier, bell. PM doesn't have the best coverage and network for my area for some reason. I still would like to keep my PM number. Am I able to keep my PM number when switching over to bell? I've talked to bell they said they can makr the switch but asked me to talk with PM to confirm.

@gpixel those maps are showing carrier aggregation, not VoLTE.
Any basic LTE coverage will also support VoLTE.
If you want to see the difference VoLTE makes, you need to compare HSPA+ to LTE on that map.
Edit: nevermind, I made a mistake

I don't read the original post as "keep my account at PM", I interpreted that they want to port the number they have picked here to Bell?
But hey, what do I know, I likely don't have all the information to come to conclusions.

You can keep your number but not PM account. Moment you port your number to Bell your PM account will be deleted.
To keep your PM number AND have Bell's number you will have to pay at least every 3 months for cheapest PM plan meaning to keep PM account somehow alive. It is possible but why bother if you are moving to Bell?!

@jd444 So, you were with Bell? what exactly is the issue you find PM not as good?
Explain further if you don't mind

Bell and Telus has the same coverage since they share cell towers.
Except that moving to Lucky would not solve any issues with calling, if that's the OPs main concern (they have not come back to address those comments above...) Lucky doesn't have VoLTE either.

You can go to Bell’s 3rd tier Lucky Mobile just like Telus’s 3rd tier PM.
Bell and Telus has the same coverage since they share cell towers.

@jd444 Bell and PM has pretty much the same coverage because they share network towers. But one big difference is that Bell has VoLTE and PM still using 3G for voice. If your issue is solely on voice, yes, moving to Bell would help. But PM should be getting VoLTE soon, at least there are rumous
But if your issue is with data, I do not see moving to Bell will help
To move back to Bell, no need to talk to PM. Just login to My Account, go to Profile page and get the account number
Please note that PM is a prepaid provider, so, there is no partial refund if you leave middle of your cycle. So, it is best to wait till closer to the end of your current cycle. But please do not wait till very last day as porting could stuck. Maybe arrange your port on your 25th days of your cycle to give you enough time

Is the problem with your calling? Public Mobile uses the same Bell/Telus Network so the only difference would be the fact that calling uses the 3G network? Are you on the old rewards program or the new points program?

@jd444 If you port your PM number to Bell, then that closes the account immediately, so the only way to keep PM account is to get a new number with Bell, otherwise the answer is no.
Make sure you ask support to remove any payment card from your account before you transfer the number to Bell as you will lose access to the account after the port.
edit: nvd...ignore above, just reread your post and you're just wanting to transfer which has already been confirmed.

@jd444 Yes you can port your number back to Bell. You'll need to grab the PM account # from the portal.
