Hi, I refered two friends, and i got the refer-a-friend reward (x2) however i did not get the $25 credit, and they only got a $10 credit. They activated online, entered my # at time of activation and it was done on nov.18.18. From my understanding both parties are to get $25 credit with in 72 hrs. Any help is much appreciated... Thanks

Someone previously has stated a London Drugs rep refused to sell a SIM without activation, and I have person experience with WOW-Mobile refusing to sell a device without a SIM activation.
All retailer not owned by Telus, but simply partnered have the potential to be problematic.
Going in as an informed customer, and with documentation does help.

It's by asking at the store that you would know if it's possible you just buy without then activating for you
I've only heard of Walmart being a problem just buying a SIM. They want to sell you the activation. But the other stores haven't been known to be a problem.
London Drugs, K Mobile, Wow Mobile, The Mobile Shop (Superstore/Loblaws related), apparently some (not all) Koodo outlets - will all sell you a SIM.

Don't think I can get the SIM through mail in time with the current postal strike.
Thanks!

Yeah I know it uses slightly less resources. But they are the retail store resources and not Public Mobile. I think PM was paying Walmart $2 for each activation.
But the problem you get is the salespeople will start to resent PM and push other brands. We already have reports of Walmart refusing to sell the sim card only before.
And the new users don't know better. I don't think its worth antagonizing a new user when they are likely to be confused enough already starting out.

@dumbdobie1 wrote:Sorry to hear that people are activating in store any only getting $10 vs $25 online. To be fair PM should make it $25 via both methods
Disagree with this as there should always be more incentive to activate online rather than a retail location as it requires less resources. Plus the second month free has never been offered to online activations only retail activations.

I'm guessing that at least part of the difference in credit is to pay the retailer some commission for their effort.

Nice that the bonus is upped to $25. Happy referring every one! Just make sure to do it online this time around.

Yes you definitely should. Since it's a different number. That's what counts and that's the only info required
11-18-2018 10:29 AM
Yes, you can self-referral for this promotion. Your husband just needs to use a different email address for his own account. Don't forget to activate at home, not instore though...

Yes you will still qualify. You must activate the new account online.

With the current state of the system, wait times for service you think these are acceptable and will refer friends and family to the service? Your posts points it all out you are about the reward for yourself and not stability of the service for your referrals
Let me try to understand your contrarian view. What you are suggesting is that instead of promoting more friends and family to use the service, I should contact my existing referrals and warn them that service is about to deteriorate a notch because yet another promotion is being offered. Essentially, I should be telling them to consider getting a different service. Well, no I won;'t be doing that. If my contacts are considering a new provider, I will not tell them to avoid this service because of current long moderator team interaction times. We don't use the service so that we can maximize interaction with customer service. For the most part, most don't even know of this current condition. I have said it many times and I will say it again and again, the best way to have improved service is to see growth not shrinkage. This is a business that relies on growth. No business shrinks to greatness.
The way I see this is that PM should be commended for being able to offer the lowest industry services for qualitative network in coverage and data; and part of the reasons why is the model they've adopted to prune overheads by keeping customer service functions to blogs and appointed Mod. And as customer base grows, this Mod reps should eventually as well increase in order to maintain service reputation. That being said, we have to keep faith and loyalty at this time hoping the complaints will produce constructive results at PM

O really? What difference does that make?

Sorry to hear about that @pramod
Same thing happened to me. However, I managed to get the $10 credit and second month free when I signed up.
They ran another promotion right after I signed up and I missed out on that.
In the end, I still think that Public Mobile fits my needs even after the initial signup bonuses ran out though.
There's always another great promotion just over the next hill.

@pramod hopefully you are saving $$ even though you did not get $25.
