From November 15th, 2018 until January 1st, 2019, you and your friend can each get a $25 credit when you refer them to Public Mobile and they activate online.

Taking advantage of this promo is easy. Just follow these steps:
As a Public Mobile customer you need to:
- Be a good pal and refer a friend to Public Mobile.
- Tell your friend that they need to successfully activate online on a 30 or 90-day plan during the promotional period and include you as their referrer in order to be eligible for the promotion.
- The one-time $25 credit will be applied to your Self-Serve account within 72 hours of your friend’s online activation. In addition, you will continue to be eligible for the $1 referral credit off your monthly bill for as long as your friend stays with Public Mobile.
Your friend will need to:
- Activate a Public Mobile SIM card online on any 30 or 90-day plan at activate.publicmobile.ca.
- Enter your active Public Mobile phone number on the referral page during the activation process. Be sure they enter your number and not their own so you get credit for the referral.
- The one-time $25 credit will be applied to their Self-Serve account within 72 hours of activation.

Terms and Conditions
Referral sender (current Public Mobile customer)
- All existing Refer a Friend eligibility requirements and rules apply. To learn more, visit publicmobile.ca/rewardrules.
- While Legacy customers are not eligible for Public Mobile Refer a Friend rewards, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.

The retailers reps aren't employed by PM, so they follow orders from their own managers. They likely want as many activations done in-store as possible in order to get commissions. This is an issue of retailers having their own agenda. PM encourages any customers who encounter issues at retailers to report any incidents to the PM moderators via private message, with as much detail as possible.

That sucks, why would the PM rep at London drugs tell me that then. I feel PM should honor what their retail reps are telling clients.

Unfortunately, then, you two wouldn't qualify for the $25, as the promo's "online activation" restriction means activations on customers' own devices. It's disappointing to hear of yet another instance where a retailer persuaded a new customer to activate in-store.

My friend and I went to London Drugs to get the SIM card on Jan 1'st (since it was the last day of the promo). I inquired about doing on line at home rather than at London Drugs directly from the rep at London Drugs, He said he can do it there at the store online and we would get the $25 credits plus the free one month promo deal, so it was done online at London Drugs.

Did your friend activate at a retailer? If so, they would only qualify for a $10 referral credit and you would only receive the $1/month recurring credit. If they did their activation from their own computer/device, then they should contact the Moderator Team by private message.

Hi @1Dani, unfortunately, I have never seen any store activate PM sim cards by any other means except online. Although I have seen one rep from the Mobile Shop call someone on the phone to get it done. I'm sure the person on the other end of the line did it online.
Herein lies the problem: every activation is "online" at some point in the process and this causes confusion. PM should clarify this by changing the term "online" to something like:
In order to get this promotion you have to activate your sim card on your own computer/mobile device by yourself, and not get it done by a service representative of a mobile store.
I think this would alleviate a lot of ambiguity and confusion for future and existing clients.

I have seen so many posts where people are unsure about the term "activate online" as Public Mobile defines it, that I think Public Mobile should change this term to promote more clarity. Every activation is essentially "online" whether you use a computer or a mobile device. There have been some great suggestions by community members as to what the term should be, so I ask that PM please consider making this change for the sake of future clients.

Did you activate instore or at home? There were a few promotions the last several weeks and it can be confusing.
If you activated at home, online (ie. bought Sim card and activated at home), you should receive $25 friend referral and if your plan was 30+ per month, you will receive $10 credit x 6 months. The $25 credit should be within 72 hours.
If you activated in store, your SIM card should be free. You will receive regular $10 friend referral (not $25) and 2nd month credit within 72 hours.

You get $25 one time credit if your referral activates a plan online. You only get $1/30days cycle if your referral activated in-store.
Ask your referral how was he/she activate PM plan.
