Hey Community,

 

From February 14th until March 31st, 2019, you and your friend can each get a $25 credit when you refer them to Public Mobile and they activate online.

Taking advantage of this promo is easy. Just follow these steps:

As a Public Mobile customer you need to:

  1. Be a good pal and refer a friend to Public Mobile.
  2. Tell your friend that they need to successfully activate online on a 30 or 90-day plan during the promotional period and include you as their referrer in order to be eligible for the promotion.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to your Self-Serve account within 72 hours of your friend’s online activation. In addition, you will continue to be eligible for the $1 referral credit off your monthly bill for as long as your friend stays with Public Mobile.

Your friend will need to:

  1. Activate a Public Mobile SIM card online on any 30 or 90-day plan at activate.publicmobile.ca.
  2. Enter your active Public Mobile phone number on the referral page during the activation process. Be sure they enter your number and not their own so you get credit for the referral.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to their Self-Serve account within 72 hours of activation.

Refer a Friend Promotion FAQs

  1. If I am referred and then I refer a friend or family member am I eligible for both sender and receiver rewards?

Yes, you are. This means that you would receive one $25 credit for being referred. Then, after activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender and earn $25 Refer-a-Friend credits during the promotional period. Learn more here.

2.I am a Legacy customer. Am I eligible for these rewards?

Legacy customers are not eligible for rewards. However, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.

3. As the referral receiver, am I eligible for the ongoing $10 Refer a Friend Reward credit, as well as this $25 Refer a Friend credit?

No, these credits are not stackable. Instead, you will receive a total of $25 via an account credit, rather than the ongoing $10 Refer-a-Friend Reward credit.

4. When does this promotion end?

This promotion will end March 31, 2019 11:59PM ET.

 

Terms and Conditions

Referral sender (current Public Mobile customer)

  • All existing Refer a Friend eligibility requirements and rules apply. To learn more, visit publicmobile.ca/rewardrules.
  • While Legacy customers are not eligible for Public Mobile Refer a Friend rewards, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.
  • You and your referee have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
  • You can only refer individuals with whom you have a personal or family relationship to ensure compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation.  
  • You can’t refer yourself or an existing Public Mobile customer.
  • TELUS team members, contractors, sales representatives acting on TELUS's behalf and associates at retail locations who receive special pricing are excluded from this promotion.

Referral receiver (your friend)

  • Must activate on a 30 or 90-day plan with Public Mobile.
  • You must input the referral information (referrer’s Public Mobile phone number) during your activation.
  • You and your referrer have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
  • After activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender.

 

OTHER

Is it more than 72 hours that you activated your sim card? Did you activate online at home?

If YES for 2 questions...it can be a problem and you can write a message to the moderator here...https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437. Waiting time is few hours to 2 days...

@Bigal09 , the sims are available in Walmarts, Wow Boutiques, K-Mobile, London Drugs, and The Mobile Shop.

 

You still have time to get a sim, and a referral, and to activate before the end of the promotion.

Yes the mobile shop inside Real Canadian Superstores. They will sell you a sim card without activiting it.

That makes much more sense now.  I read your earlier message, and I thought that you had the Public Mobile brand ownership mixed up.  It's is unfortunate that you had some difficulties purchasing a sim card.  I'm happy that you were able to find one.

No sorry there was an error. I went to the mall with my sister and we walked by the wow booth and Chatr booth. I went to the washroom and my sister tried to buy the card from Chatr and when I came out of the washroom they told me they wouldn’t sell her the card without activation. That Chatr kiosk doesn’t carry public mobile cards so anyway we went to superstore and bought it from there.  No hassle.

I went to a Chatr store (not Walmart) and they won’t sell me the sim by itself. He said he has to activate in store. This sucks. I refuse to not be able to buy a sim by itself.

Yes, but most suggest The Mobile Shop or Wow Mobile, London Drugs, since Walmart may not sell it without activating in-store.

Sure, but only if they're willing to sell it.  Someone people have had issues with stores refusing.

@Lieux, going back to the store will do nothing for this customer as they've already been deceived by the store clerk, and will only get the $10 referral.  Please stop giving instructions that are useless to the subscriber.

 

@steveh9970, unfortunately for your family member, neither of you will gt the $25 reward, as the clerk wasn't truthful with her.  However, please have your family member direct a private message to @Mary_M with information about the particular store, so that Public Mobile can follow up and advise them of this error.

I am sorry to hear that. I also did my activation in store and did not get the $25 credit. I got the usual $10 credit. So make sure you get at least $10.

First I would go to the store with the announcement on my phone..and a voice with persuasion... you can write a message to the moderator and explain what happened with the date and the store address to let them know here...https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage and write moderator_team in send to. My family member went to store, and was going to buy a simcard and activate by herself to get $25 for each, the staff at superstore said that he could help her active online and promised her that she would get $25 credit. That was the story. After so many days both of use didn't see the credit. Can you advise whether we should go to the store to find the mobile agent? or public mobile can handle this case?

Hi @steveh9970 Did your family member activate in store or online? The $25 offer is only for online activation.

Did you activate online at home? Is it more than 72 hours? If yes for the 2 questions you can write a message to the moderator here...https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 and explain your problem...waiting time is few hours to 2 days..be patient..

When did your friend activate? It usually shows up within a day or two.

Did they activate online?

They could have entered your phone incorrectly.
