Referral sender (current Public Mobile customer)

You and your referee have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
You can only refer individuals with whom you have a personal or family relationship to ensure compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation.
You can’t refer yourself or an existing Public Mobile customer.
TELUS team members, contractors, sales representatives acting on TELUS's behalf and associates at retail locations who receive special pricing are excluded from this promotion.
Referral receiver (your friend)
You must input the referral information (referrer’s Public Mobile referral code) during your activation.
You and your referrer have to accept these terms to participate in the program.

I just referred a friend, got a text saying my rewards have been applied to my account. I received $2???? AKA $1 for the monthly friend referral, but another dollar for... nothing...? Will the $20 come later or should I do something about this?
Yes, after contacting support moderators, they gave me the $20 refer fee, and $10 sign up bonus to the person I gave my code to. I got my signup done at a store so that he could transfer my existing phone number. He was not able to see my refer code at that time. I only got it after getting home and creating online account. The other phone had already been signed up by then. Explained that to support, and they took care of it.

Its a great promotion for existing and new customers.
This promotion is really for existing customers. The new customers would have still got $10 being referred even if this promo wasn't running. However, once people do sign up as new customers, they can immediately also start referring others.
If you're wondering what the referral code is for your current account is so you can send your friends to Public Mobile, you can log into selfservepublicmobile.ca to get it from there.

I guess here comes the holiday deals. Nice offer, love these $20 referral credits because once all the other rewards reduce my bill then this comes in and there's always plenty left over to cover the next month, so ends up being like 2 months free for me. Gotta love how PM not only takes care of new customers but also their existing customers. Something other providers really need to take note of. Great job PM.
@CalebKDon't despair...send a message to the moderators explaining what happened. Did you take a screenshot anytime during your activation? I often recommend this to record pin # and security answer details and the receipt. It would help bolster your case. I have had an activation miss a deadline due to an error and having to wait out a lock out seesion. The moderator was kind enough to honour the promotion. It cant hurt....even if they refuse you are no worse off. Good luck.
I got a "server error" while I was trying to transfer my existing phone number. My first attempt I would have been done before 10 local time (midnight for Ontario). But because of that I had to start from the beginning and by the time I had gotten through with everything it was 10:03 haha. I'll keep my eyes open for other promotions.
