Re: Mexico Contest

I believe that there must be some law where these types of contests may be entered with no purchase necessary.

However, by requiring people to hand write, PM is making it difficult so that you cannot photocopy thousands of entries to gain an advantage.

Too much work for me. Will  buy a lottery ticket instead.

PS I cannot remember if the PM Mexico contest requires the winner to answer a skill testing question. Just in case. Make sure you bone up on your BEDMAS rules.

This whole thread used to be part of this thread:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Mexico-Contest/m-p/1321685#M909064

It got cut and pasted into the Lounge. This has happened to my posts several times. As a result, I have had about 40 bravos deleted from the Support.

Why?

cool

@funpig1 But you still need to pay for postage. 🤣

Truly seems just another daft marketing idea. Seems unlikely to generate a horde of new customers that would not otherwise have joined.

Google says there is a "no purchase necessary" law in Canada. I will try to post the link below for the article but sometimes the Community will block links.

Anyways, section 206(1)(f) of the Canadian Criminal Code requires that such contests provide equal dignity to all. So, even if you can't afford a cup of coffee, you could still participate in roll up to win.

I believe that you are incorrect, again.

Please see the attached rules for Tim Hortons and McDonald's. No purchase is necessary and shows you how you can participate without buying.

hi @funpig1

there is no such law as far as I know, that's why you need to buy a Tim drink to roll up the rim and you cannot just ask them for a cup without purchase .  Same applies for McDonald's Monopoly stickers, food purchase is needed

I think the no purchase is needed is about no purchased is needed to claim the prize if you have won
