HI,
I was on the 3 month plan for $120 and 6g data (split 2g per month), so I decided to try the new $40 offer per month that has 4.5g data. It will switch soon to the new plan. However, i see that the old plan shows on my phone as "LTE" and the new plan is 3G. I wonder if I did well changing as i was looking for more data. and if new plan is a downgrade, how can I cancel it before old expires.
Thanks

One key question is whether the downgrade in speed of data is going to make a big difference for your usage. For most people, the downgrade in speed is not a big deal. For most day-to-day uses of data, you won't notice a big difference. With your data usage being relatively low (ie. 2 GB/month on average), you are probably not using data to stream videos a lot.
$120 for 6GB over 90 days was not a "popular" grandfathered plan. If you were on the old $120 for 12 GB for 90 days, most people would recommend staying on that popular plan. FYI, there are no LTE plans anymore with Public mobile, so if you change plans, you will not be able to get LTE data anymore.

I would say yes.... I have been no problem with my 3G data
if you really need LTE, you might also want to look around, outside of PM since you are pretty much paying for $40/month for only 2GB. Since pandemic, there has been many different decent plans out there in the $35 - $40 range.

I would say if you will use the amount of extra data that got added it's 100% worth it. I RARELY notice a difference between LTE speeds and 3G on my phone.
Make sure you have your phone data setting selecting the auto connect option (3G/4G/LTE), if you select just 3G in your phone connection setting it may throttle the speed automatically.

Hi @maykel
You are getting more than twice now for the same money.
You could easily go down to 35 and would be still getting 1.5g more for 15 less.
The 3g plans do use LTE which is just capped. Very few people need anything more. But if you do find yourself having to download something faster than 3m you can always force your connection to 3g which is not throttled.
I believe it's worth it for most people.

Hi @maykel
Unless you're using data for high demand applications, I think you'll find the 3G rate quite sufficient.
You're now paying $40 a month for 2GB. If you change you'll be slightly more than doubling your data availability - if you think you'll require more than 2 GB per month, it's definitely worthy of consideration.
I'd probably go for the change.

thank you for your answer. what do you mean that the $120 is not priced well?
I guess what i am trying to figure out is if I did well by switching.
If that new plan is better than my $120 one.
thank you in advance.

The $120 90-day plan that includes 6GB isn't priced well. However, if you scheduled a plan change to occur at the next renewal, you can undo it from within your self serve account if you decide to keep the 90 day plan.
