I have had intermittent long delays between the time I send a text and the time it is received by the recipient. It has been several hours in some cases. What is the cause and it this a public issue? I have rebooted my phone and the issue still persists once in a while, which makes communication an issue when messages don't get delivered promptly within a reasonable time.

Have you tried clearing your messaging apps cache? Or toggling airplane mode on/off to get a fresh connection to the network?

Any issues with talk and data?  

If physical SIM card, might want to try the SiM card in a different phone (newer phone if your present phone is older).  This will help determine whether hardware issue versus PM service problem.

Don't send much mms but samsung android phones sending to rogers and even to telus have had this issue

@Osk  What phone do you  have, and do you specifically mean SMS messages only, what about MMS?  It happens sometimes on other carriers, is it always to the same people and are they iPhone or Android or both?

Hey @Osk 

Try going into your network settings and reset them. If that doesn't work, create a ticket and ask a CS Agent to investigate and reset your network on their end too.
