I need Public Mobile to manually port my existing number to a new provider

Just so we're all absolutely clear...you do mean of course that the PM sim is in a phone, right? The text goes to the PM sim.

I retriggered the process after 90 min already once

all the info is correct

 

i can receive texts

 

@glencgdcincca   Please check with your new provider first to see if anything missing.  Ask them to re-trigger the process

 

Also, make sure your PM service is working, like you can receive regular text from friends

Click on the arrow in the top right of your original post and click on Edit

@glencgdcincca 

Click on reverse V in circle to edit and remove personal information or you will get spammed.

It will take up to 90 minutes to get the text with the PM SIM in your phone…account must be active to have your old number ported over.

He is porting OUT of PM, not to PM...

Please remove numbers from public forum.

YOU have to initiate porting out at other provider.

When you do that, Leave your PM SIM in a phone and reply Yes within 90 minutes after receiving SMS fromPM.

Do NOT suspend or close PM account. It will be closed automatically after porting is competed.

how do I remove the post ?

 

the request for porting from my new provider has been completed

 

the sim is in the phone and I am not receiving the text to authorize the port

 

what do I do now?

Hello @glencgdcincca !

 

  1. Obtain Public Mobile SIM card
  2. Port number when activating your SIM
  3. If you are having issues porting your number over, activate your SIM with a temporary number and setup your online Self Serve account
  4. Test the Public Mobile service to make sure you are happy
  5. Send Public Mobile your account number, name on the account and the phone number by submitting a ticket. To submit a ticket to the Moderator Team, please start a conversation with the Public's virtual assistant, SIMon by clicking the link below: https://publicmobile.ca/en/qc/get-help
  6. If you are still having problems contacting Public Mobile then click here. The link  sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.

    Please note that account verification may be required when contacting the Moderator Team

@glencgdcincca   this is an open forum and please remove your account number and phone number for your protection.

 

For porting, first make sure your account is still Active

Then request the porting from the NEW provider.  

Once requested, make sure your PM sim is still on a phone ready to receive text.  PM will send you a text for your authorization to port.  You need to reply YES within 90 mins

 

Once replied YES, the porting will be completed within 30 mins  to 2 hours

You need to initiate the port with your new provider. Make sure your PM account is Active and that you keep your PM sim in your phone to receive the confirmation text to port out.
