iphone 11 and 5g plan

1gb of data wasn't doing it for me, so I upgraded to the 50gb plan. I understand that iphone 11 doesn't support 5g, and I'm fine with that.

Ever since I upgraded by data, though, my access to the internet has been incredibly slow and sporadic. (I'm comparing this to my previous 3g plan with PM.)

Besides buying a new phone, which I am not interested in doing, how can I solve this?

As @hTideGnow has provided you with a great answer...please award him/her/it the Solution instead of me. I'm sure that would make him/her/it happy.

Thanks for this. I'm not entirely sure where "network mode settings" is. Is this the same as going to "cellular data options"? There I can choose LTE or 3G.

That's the correct place to set LTE.
