how to receive text from HK?

Hi, 

I got lost when I can't receive text in HK? What is happening? I have subscribed long distance minutes, but I still can't receive text messages. Please help.

Just to add, the long distance minutes only work for making voice calls when you are in Canada.

sorry, even with the Textnow trick, you won't be able to receive any 2FA codes.

you need to contact CRA to see if they offer you other ways to receive those 2FA.  Third party authentication app is the best way to choose going forward, that allows you to login CRA even you can't receive text

The problem is I can't receive text from CRA in order to log in to its account when I am in HK. so much problems with the verification code..., Please help.

sorry @royw , PM does not have roaming in HK.  They only have roaming service in US and Mexico

But in HK, you can buy cheap local data there, like buy from Three, then use Whatsapp to receive messages

or you can download VoIP app Textnow while you are still in Canada.  Pick a Canadian number from Textnow , then you can use that numbers to send and receive text using the app

while you're in Canada, you should be able to received sms from anywhere on this mudball. Perhaps the sender isn't dialing you properly. If you're in HK...your PM service will not work at all.
