Mr.  image1 agree to you % million ,  I would like to stay with PM for $19 plan but it is impossible to get this deal , may be PM can  sign me up for it, but I was already charged $28.74  on June 2nd, terrible

HI @image1

why not go for $19/1GB for now?   remember you have a 10 points bonus every year, that is around $0.75, so, that mean you are paying $18.25 for 1GB, still one of the best price among tier 3

and , if you want a bit, PM could send you an invite for the $22/6GB plan.

if you are paying more to leave, it will be much more advantageous to stay with the $19 plan

I have the exact same situation. I was about to write a post titled 'Public Mobile forced me to leave' but decided no need to repeat my rant after seeing your post and knowing I'm not the only one. Not only we are paying way more overnight, also we see new customers can enjoy 3GB of data for $21 only, while we are still being charged for the whole $25 for 1GB. That's the base on which I confirmed that Public Mobile is forcing me to leave. With good deals all around these days, even paying $20 for 1GB is too much.  I'm not gonna beg them to give me what I deserve. I will leave before next renewal, after 19 years including those with Telus, their mother company.

No more monetary rewards!
No more loyalty nor autopay nor referral monetary credit every 30 days. Now you get 5% off your bill back in points, 10 points at anniversary and 1 point for every referral. If you participate in Community few more points could be awarded.
When you collect 15+ points you have to manually convert them to $15, it will not be automatic applied toward your bill.

HI @autist

you were wondering where the autopay/loyalty discount/friend rewards gone?   PM has ended that old system and moved everyone to the new Public Points!!

So, now you have to pay full price first and PM will give you back points after.  Instead of loyalty rewards monthly, you get 10 points per year on your anniversary date with Public Mobile.  Instead of $2 autopay discount, you get 5% of your plan in points.

And the points are useful to reduce the bill. After you got 15+ points, you will go to rewards site to redeem 15 points for $15 bill credit

@autist

Are you on $25 plan? if so, you might be able to get the savings back.  But let me tell you what the actual issue is

PM retired the old reward system earlier (May 2024) and everyone migrated on the new Public Points system.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/move-to-public-points

With this new system, you pay the full amount first (with the Available Funds on your My Account or via your credit/debit card on the system), and hence you see a higher charge now.
After renewal, PM will give you the points to your reward account within 48 hours.  Once you collected 15 points, you can redeem $15 bill payment yourself to bring the next payment down.  Or you can also use points to buy add-ons with a discounted price

But you have a $25-1GB plan, you might be able to get the lost money back.  PM is offering existing subscribers a $19-1GB plan.  It is pretty much the same $25 -1GB plan, except it is better, it has 4G speed instead of 3G.   With it being just $19, you can recover the lost reward savings from the change of the reward system.  You might want to login to My Account and schedule a plan change to this $19 plan using Change on Renewal option

Hi @autist

The increase is likely due to the new Public Points system in which everyone is now on. With this change all customers will pay the full amount up front, the $2 auto pay discount has been replaced with 5% Points-Back from every payment (less taxes), the monthly loyalty discount is now replaced with 10 points given once a year on your anniversary. You can earn extra points with the Refer-a-Friend and with Give Back (from 1 point up to 20 points by contributing in the Public Mobile Community).  Public Points can be redeemed towards a $15 bill credit (requires 15 points), or for ad-ons like international long distance minutes, more data, etc (starting at 5 points and up). The $15 bill credits will not happen automatically, you’ll need to redeem your points in your account manually add them for your next bill. There is no opt-out option for the new points system.

As some of our experts have shared, depending on which plan you are currently on there may be opportunities for changing to better cheaper plans to help offset the increase. For example, if you are on the $25 plan, there is now a $19 plan with 1GB data, pretty much the same as the old $25 plan but with faster 4G speed and you save $6. Customers that are currently on the $15 plan do not have any cheaper plan options to move to and will need to accumulate points until reaching 15 for the bill credit of $15.

To change plans login to “My Account” and use “Change on Renewal” to schedule a plan change.

The old rewards program has been discontinued and replaced with the new points reward program. Because of this you have to pay full price on your phone plan instead of getting automatic bill credits.
