Why am i getting data warnings when i have a 20g plan and i have only used 2.4 gigs. And why do they shut my data down when i reach 5 gigs

It sounds like a limit you have set on your phone itself, which has nothing to do with Public Mobile. Change or remove the data cap and/or warning in your device settings. 

 

To be sure you should login to your Public Mobile account in Incognito Mode to verify that you have data remaining in this cycle.

Check your phone settings.   Go into the data section and check out that

You may be confusing GB with MB. - don't believe that PM will shut down your account because it still has 5 GB of data left. There must be another reason.

if you do as I've suggested, you'll be able to do 2 things...find out how much data you're plan has and how much you've used up.

I'd also suggest you disable data to apps you don't use on a regular basis.

I don't believe PM shut your data off... it's most likely that you have a data cap on your device. you need to disable "set data limit" Google it. you may also disable "set data warning" and you will not receive those warnings from your device

Some phones have a setting where there is a data limit.  Your phone likely has this set up.  What model phone do you have?  Likely a phone set up issue versus PM service problem.

hI @Robocom   maybe what you see is cached usage.

you can use the spinner option as advised by @hairbag1 

 

or you can also login My Account again using Incognito/Private/Secrete mode.  That would save the manual clicking of the spinner as there are couple to refresh but getting updated info on the whole My Account

To be very sure how much data you have, check again after:

Try using different browser. Try Incognito/private mode. Clear browser’s cache. Try forced refresh. Use computer and not phone to log in.

Sometimes SMS regarding usage is sent in error...

It on my phone i receive the data warning. not on the pc. They actually shut my data down at 5 g and i had to use wifi last month
