Hi All
I am signed up for automatic billing butam going away out of country for a month soon.
Can I simply untick the automatic billing?
I don’t wish to be penalized or lose my status/number, but don’t really want to pay when I’m away.
Thank you for any advice!

Well your right if you are thinking that oracles act as moderators of the forum like other forums. It's just confusing because CSA's used to be called moderators. I'm sorry to hear about your koodo debacle and it seems that for $70 they got off exceptionally cheap. Oh well live and learn I suppose.....but im interested in your CCTS complaint. Did you settle early or did they accept your complaint as covered under their mandate for your loss of rewards or unable to provide a service?

Nope @avery2021
The Oracles know a lot more than the "moderators". (now called Customer Support Agents)
🙂

Sorry I thought Oracle was a moderator or something lol

Great idea thanks

Don't understand the question, @avery2021

Who is the
myst Oracle?

@hTideGnow , not worth the effort, and i already deleted the post. I like the way you think, though.

really! Interesting! Well they only coughed up $70 to reimburse me! Guess it’s better than nothing.

I think this one sums it up nicely: https://www.comparecellular.ca/public-mobile/
Public Mobile has it's own management, but it is the third tier provider of the Telus group. When you were with Koodo you paid to the exact same shareholders as you are now, the same is true if you had one of the all-inclusive plans at the parent company.

@HALIMACS- I think some people think choosing a last post in a thread calling it the solution that it somehow closes the thread. As we know, it doesn't.

actually I found out that Public buys line usage from Telus but not part of it

@dust2dust wrote:@HALIMACS- And again on another thread. Oh well. Maybe an oracle will do some magic.
Perhaps, i may as well tag @computergeek541 on this one too so he's aware which 2 threads to merge
Starting to see now how this OP is in the situation they are in. 😉

Lesson learned in hind sight should be.....keep your PM account active, try Koodo, then later port your number from PM.
01-08-2023 01:02 PM
Not giving up, just giving in.
Letting the credit lie where the OP recognized it. That's all.

HI @HALIMACS why you delete yours if you said it right and earlier. you are giving up just like that?

I will fill you all in - sadly I learned the hard way! But learnt a valuable ly.I was with Public several years and had a ton of loyalties noticed I was using more and data and having to buy add ons
Then Koodo came up with a Black Friday (too good to be true) plan with 5 gb
I signed up and 5 days later was still not connected!! 4 visits to their store and hours on hold!!! So I moved back to Public. Lost all my rewards. I did, however report Koodo to CRTC and they reimbursed me some $.
BTW, no need to start a new thread. This one should be merged with your other recent thread. ( @computergeek541 )
Really unfortunate you existed Public Mobile. If you lost the old Reward program if you chose to reactivate a new SIM card to come back here, you might have been better off elsewhere. The new Public Points system of rewards doesn't hold a candle to the old rewards program.
That's a tough pill to swallow.

Exactly @dust2dust
I had an earlier reply echoing yours, including discussion of impacts to rewards, however it seemed to have been gleamed over by the OP.
So, here we are.
01-08-2023 12:53 PM
HI @avery2021 that was an expensive move 😞
So, what was the problem with Koodo? Koodo and PM both use Telus network. Sp , service should be same
01-08-2023 12:53 PM
@avery2021 @Your welcome we are happy to help

Not sure how that's the solution to your question...
There could also be a timing issue. If your current paid term ends well into your time away and then you return in, whatever, say a week and half from that then you could also just leave it all as is.
01-08-2023 12:42 PM
ah thank you. I learned the hard way- see my new post!
01-08-2023 12:36 PM
Don't be surprised if you're rewards don't get applied to your first renewal, when you return and reactivate your services.
You'll have to pay the full price of your plan. But that's just normal.
Your rewards will be applied on the following renewal date.

HI @avery2021 just disable Pre-Authorized payment from My Account, Payment, Manage payment
When you are back, just login My Account, make a manual payment and resume service . You can also use *611 if you know the 4 digits PIN

@avery2021 @Yes you can and you can disable auto pay and renewal the following month and keep your number
01-08-2023 12:27 PM
Yes, just turn off auto-pay, @avery2021
Then, upon return, re-enable and make payment sufficient to restore services.
