I have tried to open a ticket and it is not working. I would like to be please sent a new SIM card. I’ve been on the phone with Apple 3 times and they have tried everything, right down to the whole reboot of the phone. This is the next step. How can I get a new SIm?  Can I please talk to a real person?

@Christied can you confirm was the VM notification ever worked.?   did it just break after you made an iOS update??

did you try to update your Carrier profile??

did you try a Network Reset?

and what had you tried?

Yes, you can also try to open ticket with PM and see f they can help , but again, it could be a device problem

To open ticket:

1. Please open ticket via Chatbot (need access to My Account): At https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.

Start by typing "Submit a ticket", then click "Contact Us", Then click "Other", then click "Click here to submit a ticket ↗"

2. If you have trouble with Chatbot or you don't have access to My Account: Private message CS Agent at:

    https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on the top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there

I’ve already said that this has been tried. Where’s the service here?

@Christied  maybe it is a problem with the latest iOS instead of the carrier

There have been couple posts mentioning this after updated the iOS

Didn’t work. I got a voicemail with no notification that there’s something there. This is a critical thing for me. I’m highly dissatisfied.

@Christied   Not sure if this has already been mentioned and tried, but perhaps try powering off the phone and removing the SIM for couple of minutes and reinserting and rebooting.

Good tips @BKNS27   curious, which two apps you had issue with the notification?

@Christied

There are issues with iOS 16.2 on some apps. I have 2 apps that doesn’t work but if you reboot (powering off) your phone after you confirm the badge is enabled…it may fix the issue.

Yes but only 16.1.2

Just started download of 16.2 thanks to this thread.

We have had a number of iPhone models. A few times the voicemail notification is missing. Perhaps an Apple flaw, I would think. If it works hit and miss and you have not played with settings....logic says it's an iPhone (software) issue. And I sure as heck am not going to track errors to what day they happened on what ever  iOS version we are on. Voicemail just needs to work! Getting a voicemail notification is just as important as notification for an incoming call, is it not?

I was cleaning up “recents” on my wife’s phone and found an odd inbound call and found she is having an affair.   Lol NOT. Both of our phones are set up with DND 24/7 to only accept calls from numbers in our contacts list and to accept any call, that calls twice within 3 minutes. So any call not accepted from the DND setting can leave a voicemail AND will show in recents. So the odd number was one of those obnoxious calls in Chinese. So as I was cleaning up and deleting recents, during the process, a 🔴 red dot shows on the very left “phone” icon. Normally would be on the very right “voice mail” icon. Never the less there was a voicemail.

So I too can say we experience the peculiarities of no voicemail notification and notification in the wrong place.

Is it because of DND settings? I would say no, because it has happened with no DND settings.

I don’t know how much help my response is....but here you go.

Go to settings >Phone>Notifications> enable "Badges"

After settings, voicemail badge should pops up.

@Christied   was it working before?

I see some posts about the notification issue when using iOS latest version, 16.2

@CountyDownIeUk , you are on iPhone, right?  are you on 16.2 and do you have trouble with the VM notification?  thanks

HI @Christied

iPhone or Android?

For iPhone, what iOS version is that?

For Android, try to clear cache for your Phone and Message app

You can also try reset all network

@Christied if after other's advice and still not working try a hard restart of your device.

And/or also you could try to perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings. This may help reset/fix finicky things/settings on your device.

This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, VPN and APN settings, and connected Bluetooth devices that you've used before.

Iphone:

To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode.

Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.

android:

Find and tap Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.

@Christied   if it is an iPhone, it could be an iOS problem.  There have been couple posts about losing VM notification  with the latest iOS

@Christied

On your phone app, there are settings that allow you to select what type of notifications, audible or pop up, are to be provided when a voicemail is received.

Check these settings.

@Christied Android or iPhone?  Have you checked notification settings?  If iPhone do you have a focus profile configured that mutes voicemail notifications?
