If my device (Motorola Moto G7 Plus - 2019) is listed in T-Mobile's and AT&T's VoLTE support list, but not Public Mobile's, will I be able to place calls in the US with a Canada-US plan?
Thanks!
Edit: Just saw this post: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/VoLTE-Update/td-p/1265276 and will check my IMEI later when I have access to the device to see if it is there. In case it is not listed, my question remains. : )

Am I correct to assume the Telus IMEI checker linked in your post that I put in my edit would work? I am currently a Koodo customer ~ would checking the IMS work given as it's all Telus, or might the companies have separate whitelists?
@TiersTrals , I believe that Public Mobile uses a different whitelist. Having said that recently there appears to be changes to the whitelist and many phones not listed in the whitelist actually works. I got my Umidigi A13 pro to work and then I did the IMEI check on the Telus site and it passed. I am assuming that the Telus compatibility checker is a good screen. If you know of someone using Public Mobile try a test check on your phone.
I can confirm that the Telus checker can only be used a guideline for Public Mobile. I have checked some devices that show as compatible with Telus VoLTE but have never worked on Public Mobile VoLTE.

The answer to that is simply whether VoLTE works while in Canada on PM, the same should apply while using PM's US roaming. You can't go off the list alone as it isn't comprehensive.

@TiersTrals , on the phone dialer, call *#*#4636#*#* to bring up a hidden menu. Select phone information, select IMS service status from the 3 dot in the upper right corner. If the IMS status shows VoLTE being available, then you should be fine. As for determination of VoLTE compatibility, it is Public Mobile that is the "gate keeper". All usage routes back to Canada and so if Public Mobile does not enable VoLTE on your device, what happens with the US roaming partners is immaterial.

@TiersTrals Assuming still in Canada, turn off wifi, enable cellular data, make a phone call. Watch the top of the phone, does it stay on LTE or drop to 3G? If it drops to 3G then VoLTE is not enabled.

I've used a non-whitelisted PM volte phone in US and had success using volte. I think if it's volte enabled at T-Mobile or AT&T, it should work just fine in US.
