Upgraded to 5G, iPhone still says 3G???

Hello,

In regards to my Subject line, I’ve tried troubleshooting my problem:

I went to my iPhone settings, Cellular, Cellular Data Options, then Voice and Data, but I couldn’t switch to 5G. (Still say 3G or Lite)

I’ve tried Shutting Down my phone and Re-Starting it, but nothing changed. I’ve had my 5G plan for over a year and it still doesn’t switch to - 5G.

Please help.

As stated:

-only iPhone 12 and newer are 5G compatible

-If you're iPhone is a 12 or newer and you're still not getting 5G, you likely need to update software on the phone

-You can still get 5G speed on the 4G/LTE network (3G is a different story)

Your plan is unrelated to the types of networks that you can connect to.  Assuuming device compatibility, all Public Mobile customers have access to the same networks.

If you're paying for speeds up to 250mbps you will still be able to possibly reach these speeds even if you don't see the 5G option on your phone. Suggest setting your data to LTE and enjoy the faster speeds.

@LoDeL1  What iPhone do you have?  Only iPhone 12 and newer can get 5G.  If it's older than that, then you should get good speeds on LTE.
