Unable to Send Picture Text Messages

Hello,

It's been over 5 years since I was last here, but I cannot seem to figure out how to send picture messages (MMS) ever since the new APN changes Public Mobile implemented. Attached are photos of my phone's current APN settings which allow data and SMS to work, but not MMS. I have followed PM's steps as close as possible:

  1. Verify the following field match:

Is there anything I can do to get MMS to work again?

HI @JN_2020

it is a network or app issue, launcher won't help.  Launcher just change the graphics on the phone

try to borrow a Freedom sim card.  Many tried a Freedom sim card and it will magically make APN updatable (not greyed out)

if that does not work, try submit ticket with CS agent,  please submit a ticket with CS Agent using this Chatbot link:  https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html  Type the question "Submit ticket", Then click the following in order: "Contact Us" ,  "Other",  "Log In".
If any issue with ticket submission, you can  submit by direct message:

Nova Launcher did not help. I still cannot change/add/delete the current APNs (Greyed out)....

Issue is that all APN details are  greyed out and I also cannot delete the APNs

Nova Launcher may help delete the APN. Watch the video.

@JN_2020

I don't think launcher is the problem

Many confirmed that you need to delete the current APN profile first.  Then Add new profile and add according to this, please note case-sensivitve and do not add extra spaces.  Remember to save the new APN and then reboot the phone before you try

Picture messaging not working but data is fine

My phone Sharp Aquos V has

MMS port: 80 instead of MMS port: 8799

MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18 instead of MMSC proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca

I cannot edit or delete my APN settings (All greyed out). I reset the network settings however it still reverts to old APN settings listed here.

Found the answer in a "related content" discussion! Thank you @softech

Step by step instructions can be found here: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Picture-messaging-lost/td-p/1169624

It worked for me after deleting my current APN, following the steps, rebooting, and then voila.

Tried a network reset. Unfortunately received the same results.

@acernine - Yeah, some OnePlus phones I think are experiencing issues with MMS.

Hm... the phone in question is a OnePlus10T which was released in 2022. I'll look into a network reset. Thanks for the tip!

@acernine  Some have had luck resetting network settings to get it to work , but some older phones just won’t be supported that are older then 2015 even some 2017 phones
