We are in the US now and my phone does not allow me to text or talk even though I changed my plan from 40.00 to 50.00 and have 2 add-ons. I want to be able to talk, text from USA to Canada and have data on my phone while I am in the US please help

you can try reseat the SIM card and Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,
1. power off your device
2. take out the SIM card,
3. waiting a 1 minute,
4. put it back and power on,
5. toggling airplane mode off/on,
make sure enable roaming on,
Try manually selecting either of AT&T or T-Mobile, whichever works best for you,
and do Rebooting your phone ,This is quick and simple,to refreshing your network,
*what is meant by rebooting the device turn off and turn it back on.
for Re-Purchase Add-ons you need to wait 25 hours after the expiry first Purchase Add-ons or you need to Contact Customer Support Agent by CS_Agent, to do it for you...

Reset network settings already and got the text welcoming me and said I needed an add on so did that first night I was in USA

Did you get the welcome to USA Public mobile text?
Some other things to try as your wait for CSA help:
Network reset of phone
Enable international roaming on some phones in settings.

@Icemanleith : Do you have more than one of each kind of add-on? Or do you just show one line saying talk and one line saying text?

Do you have the "Data ROAMING" option selected (turned ON) on your device?
If yes to above, do you have, or are you travelling with someone else you can try your SIM card into to see if you have services then?
Not sure if this will work while in the USA, but this is sometimes recommended while in Canada, so thought I would throw this out there...
What happens if you manually change your Mobile Networks under your Connections settings to 3G / WCDMA ONLY?

@Icemanleith is this the first time you buy the US roaming? I meant not like your bought once already for this trip and now 10 days later you are buying a 2nd round, right?

Yes. Rebooted a number of times and manually connected as well. Someone suggested to turn airplane mode on and off. Did that as well.

@Icemanleith Have you tried rebooting the phone? How about manually try to connect to AT&T or T Mobile?

@Icemanleith you will need US roaming Add on to have your phone works in US. you said you have 2 Addons, which 2?
a reminder, buying add on is a 2 steps proceess, 1. Load Fund. 2. Actual buying. Any chance you did just step 1?
if you really got your US roaming add on, try to connect to wither T Mobile or AT&T and see which one connect better

@Icemanleith The plan you subscribed to that includes US calling only works if you are calling the USA FROM Canada. Is one of your add ons the US Roaming? If not you need to add funds to your account then go in an purchase the applicable US roaming package which is valid for 10 days.
Edit: If you have purchased a USA roaming package, make sure that the funds are not showing in your account as the 2 step non intuitive add on purchasing process can be confusing. As mentioned above you need to add the funds then go and purchase it. If you are showing the US roaming add on in your account try rebooting your phone.
