Hi! I recently switched to Public Mobile, and today is my first time using it in the US. For some reason my voice and text works a-ok, but my data does not. It briefly works if I disable the network and reenable it, but it stops shortly after.
Yes, data roaming is enabled. I’m really not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve reset every setting, tried different networks. I even get 4-5 bars of 5G with AT&T, but data just doesn’t work. I’ve also been sent a text offering roaming, but it’s supposed to be included in my plan. Help!

Thank you. Just new to PM and was motivated to change to get this us-can plan. Have been having the same issue very frustrating. Switching off auto and t mobile has made all the difference. Why don’t they tell u this?

@softech can you or PM make a sticky on how to roam in the US?
Turn off 5g, only use 4g. Turn off auto network, select T-Mobile etc.

Interesting. It didn't do it to me a few weeks back or even twice in November. I guess we'll see what happens this week when I go back. 🙂

@Chalupa_Batman not a glitch
it will send to you regardless you have the roaming or not. When the US system sees a new phone trying to connect, they don't care you have the roaming or not, first thing it will do after the network connection is to send you that text

@Chalupa_Batman That text still gets sent out, and can be ignored. The OP showed a screenshot confirming they're on the right plan.

Hey @bwfrith
I have this same plan as well and it does work in the US. I made sure, as Softech has mentioned, change the 5G setting down to 4G. Then, go into your network settings and turn off automatic. T-Mobile should pop up. Click on it and then once you're out of settings, reboot the phone. Once back up, you should be on the T-Mobile network and everything should be running just fine. It did for me in the US.
@softech correct me if I'm wrong but... that error about telling him to purchase a US add on, is that still a glitch in the system?

AT&T 5G doesn't work for us. You need to connect to one of the following: AT&T 4G, T-Mobile 5G, or T-Mobile 4G.
It's best to just set your preferred network to 4G when in the US.
