Why did they change the US roaming package to 15 days from 10 days?
Most Canadians probably travel to the US for about 7 days or less.

They are still by far the best US roaming option available from a Canadian provider. And I'd argue the new plans provider greater overall value than the old ones. That said, they are not the best for 1-2 day trips. Anything longer than that you'll come out ahead of the daily roaming plans offered by the big 3 though.
Also because of the glitch of not being able to purchase the same add on consecutively for 24 hours, the 15 day plans are more convenient because you have less of those transitions to deal with.

This was in central Florida, it could be that there is just so much interference around there too. I'll be heading to the US next week so can try out my new phone (POCO X4) and see if it's better. I figured out how to enable VoLTE on it already.

If you're in an east-west valley then gps could become spotty. This is common. There needs to be line of sight to enough of the gps constellation to keep a solid location. The satellites are not always just immediately overhead.

My apologies, sorry you were so triggered by my question 😩

Yes, I've done exactly that but it doesn't work as well as when data is turned on. My phone kept getting confused and sending us off route once in a while. It might have been an issue with that particular phone though having poor GPS. (Umidigi)

You can use the GPS without needing data. Download maps for offline use. Turn on the GPS (location services) and it will show your location on the map. You can read a map, right? 🙂
No, not for navigation turn left on this road kind of thing. Nor live traffic info (however live those really are). But the gps will follow along with you showing your location on the map. All without data.

Wow! This post is proof that there is always a person that will complain about anything and make assumptions. If I understand this post --- the complaint is that PM has increased the duration of the US roaming package from 10 days to 15 days and further more makes the assumption that even the 10 days was too long because the OP assumes that most of us visit in the USA for about 7 days or less. Again WOW!!!!

I like the 3 GB because I use my phone as a GPS and the previous 300 MB allowance was pretty useless. And $30 for 15 days is a fair price. I just wish they had an option for maybe $15 for 7 days as we do several weekend trips to the US during the year.

No official announcement on the reason why PM change the package duration.
The good news is that the pricing prior and after the change was mostly the same. PM did offer the new more expensive 3GB data roaming add on which is a good option for some customers. Otherwise, customers get an extra 5 days for the same price. Public mobile did remove the talk only and text only options though.

You can never satisfy everybody.
Many people complained 10 days is too little.
So, price is the same 10 or 15 days. No reason for complain 🙂

if purchased strategically...the add-on might benefit me for 2 weekend camping trips to US, with a few day trips as well.
I say "might" because the add-on seems less reliable than the 10 day add-on was...at least in eastern Wa state. ( not PM's fault)
Maybe the activation of volte would help, but PM won't activate all cell phones. My iPhone SE (2016) is volte ready...but PM won't turn it on.

That's a substantial assertion of 7 days. Leave on a Saturday come home the next Sunday is 8 days. Another week is 15 days. So the 15 days covers both.
I would say the 3 gigs is maybe more than necessary but that's just me.

@Gerry_P yes, they changed it roughly 2 months ago
Yes, some people wants it long and some wants shorter. Good or bad. Many seems to think the 1GB for 7 days not enough and hence they changed it I guess
Sorry, no choice, this is what it is 😞
