US/Canada plan 4G or 5G?

I just switched to PM's US/Canada plan. I know the website says 4G speed but my iphone 13 is showing that it is on 5G. Am I really getting 5G? Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks, Elliot

Yup, even 3G plans can use the 5G network. Your plan just dictates your throttled speed.

As @Handy1 mentioned, I leave mine in 4G preferred because I find signal and speed very inconsistent on 5G.

I've noticed this on multiple 4G Plans I've activated myself or for Referrals on 5G Compatible Devices.

I was also wondering why, thanks everyone for clarifying on that!

@elliotk1  You can use the 5G network but still only get the 4G speed your paying for .personally I’d just put your network to 4G:LTE work the same and  be easier on your battery

@elliotk1 In fact, the 4G plan you got is just a 4G speed planl.  Al PM subscribers can freely access its 3G/4G/5G networks , just that the speed will be capped accordingly

@elliotk1- your connection is 5G.  But speed would be limited to 4G speeds.  Same goes for the 3G plans.  The speed is what is limited.

@elliotk1

it'll be 5G speed but choked at 4G.
