 This is my phone plan, am I correct to say I would need to buy a data add on when travelling to the states?

If you will be travelling to the US often, instead of buying a US add-on, you should consider changing to a Canada-US plan permanently. Check what plans are available for you when you log into your account. There is a $35 Canada-US 50gb plan but it is 4G not 5G. If you opt to change plans, choose “Change on Renewal” (NOT Change Now) so that you don’t forfeit whatever is left on your current plan (unless you are travelling to the States before your plan renews).

@92H, you're plan has the unlimited throttled data but not US roaming. You would need the $30 US voice and data add on

Correct. From what I can see you do NOT have US/Can plan but just 'plain' Canada plan so you would need to buy USA add-on in order to have service in USA.
