When I try to check voicemails or long press "1" i get a message "talk is not included in your current plan" but I have the $40 plan. How can I set up my voicemail so I can receive and access them ?

What phone do you have?

My Samsung S7 running Android 8 gets there by:

open dialer

3 dots upper right

Settings

Voicemail settings

In there is the number that pressing and holding 1 dials.

If it's like a star code or only a couple digits then it's wrong. It needs to be like +17785804001 (for my BC area).

When you press "1", you are calling the associated speed dial number on your phone.

Check the speed dial settings on your phone.

Perhaps the number has a different area code then your own.

As per suggestions above, you can prefix the number with "1" or change the area code to one in your area (if it's available).

RE: Calling 611: what does it start saying off the top? Does it ask for money? Or does it give you your balance and payment due date and proceeds to the other options?

Your phone might be using a different voicemail access number. Perhaps from your old provider. That is the "local" number people are mentioning. Basically for most folks it would be 1 and your local area code and then 580-4001. There are some variations. The list from Nezgar is an excellent reference.

@adamhaidar15  What happens when you dial 611? Is your account active?

@adamhaidar15

go into setting search voicemail. Then copy and paste voicemail into your contacts name it PUBLIC MOBILE voicemail or something. Make aure to put a 1 in front of the number.

Call it and it should be good.

I am asuming you can make calls out.

If you carn try turning your phone off remove your sim. Wait a few minutes then insert the SIM again. Then restart the phone.

Have a good evening.

@adamhaidar15  You get that message when you are trying to dial long distance without a 1 in front of the number. Can you see if your voicemail is local to your area? If it isn't here's @Nezgar ' updated list of voicemail numbers. Find a local one and change yours.
