My SIM card Status shows: Mobile network state Disconnected

To anyone there who can explain it to me,

Hi, there! I have been having THE issue ever since I became the user of PM:  50% of the calls go to my voicemail box WITHOUT ringing. I've tried everything I could think of:

ensure airplane mode is not enabled
ensure do not disturb is not enabled
ensure the number calling me is not on a blocked senders list
disable any call-forwarding features/settings
turn off Bluetooth -- it's possible the 'ringing' is going through to a Bluetooth device instead of device's speakers
remove and reinsert the SIM card
reset network connections

None of them works!!

Lately I was told to check my SIM card status to see if my phone is VoLTE capable/registered, I did as the following: Setting➡️About phone➡️Status➡️SIM card Status➡️Mobile network state: Disconnected

What does it mean??? I have the mobile data  (with internet connection), I have WiFi, I can get/ sent SMS, and I can use all types of IM or social media apps, the bottom line: I can get my AT LEAST 50% of the calls, and the rest from my voicemail box, how could the "Mobile network state is Disconnected"?

Thus, can anyone tell me what's going on here? I just found out my building's  intercom buzzer calls ALSO go to my voicemail box directly without RINGING, meaning I can't open the door by pressing the number od my phone, HELP!!

My phone is Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Ahh, @hTideGnow , got it! I guess it's the time to consider changing the provider or my phone....which  BOTH have been  my favorite for a looooooong time🤣

thanks for your expertise advice indeed

hi @Becool29 Some said PM might have expanded the whitelist a bit , but no confirmation

I don't bet on PM will really let all phones have access to VoLTE until the sunset of 3G is in sight.  Some might tell you end of 2025, but this is it true.  Telus/Bell won't retire their 3G until 2026 or 2027

Hey, @hTideGnow  I'm sure I am living in BIG city, Toronto(mainly), Vancouver  and Montreal(three months/year), and this issue has been there ever since I'm with PM, even I changed the phone (once in Montreal), I kind of "giving up" on the idea of fixing it 'cos I love my Note 9 too much😂, till recently it's getting worse (it used to be 20% of the calls , now is 50%, ) even for the calls that on my contact list, people who are live in the same  building using different phone with different carrier does NOT have this issue at all, they can get intercom buzzer calls perfect! (I even contact the building management to see if the setting on the intercom is correct, the answer was "absolutely no issues, please contact your mobile network provider"....😟)

Speaking of "PM's VoLTE whitelist", in you opinion, is it just the matter of waiting? or will unlikely be on the whitelist at all 😥

hi @Becool29

Note 9 is certainly compatible

Do you find your experience is better in some area but not others?

Since your phone is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist, so, you are likely suffered by the lack of 3G network in your area.  So, arr you in big city or rural?

@computergeek541  I guess you are right! see the screenshot, as soon as I leave the Wi-Fi connection , my "Mobile network state " becoming Connected.

Thus, I need to know is it the issue of my phone, which is NOT compatible  or the network provider , Bell,  which in the processes of updating its system that may cause connecting errors? Screenshot_20241116-223600_Settings.jpg

Mobile network state: disconnected doesn't actually mean that your'e not connected to the wireless network.  It only means that there is either no data connection or that mobile data is turned off.  That message in itself is unrelated to issues with voice service.

I DID try my SIM card on other phones, same thing happened, though I did not check the SIM card status back then😞 Btw, I could not create the Service Ticket through Chatbot link, yet I did send the private message using the other link you provided, Thanks millions🙏
