Transferring phone number from Virgin to Public Mobile

Hi, I signed up and called virgin to manually approve the transfer of my phone #. I’m on an iPhone XR, the IMEI showed as E-SIM compatible. There is an “SOS” instead of my service bars and I’m unable to create a ticket as the only authentication method is to receive a code via text, which I cannot receive as my number is supposedly still being transferred? Could some explain? Do I just wait?

hey guys thank you so much for all your help, was a simple fix found here https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/transfer-your-number just switched the sim in the settings, thank you all

you have an SOS on the status bar, it is not a porting problem but a problem with your sim connection

If you have already installed the eSIM profile, Good. 

First, if you have any active sim on the phone , disable them (eSIM/Physica sim) or remove the physical sim. 

Then click Reset All Networks on your phone and it will work.  (Please note that Reset all Networks will also erase your saved Wifi and Bluetoosh connections, but you just need to add them back after)

if it still does not work, please open ticket with PM support and they will reprovision your sim on the system

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there

Your old SIM will continue to work for about 90 minutes to 2 hours until porting is completed. 
I assume you reply to the text with YES from your previous carrier with the old SIM in your phone confirming you are porting over to PM.

Let us know if you replied to the text.

I just transferred my number as well from Virgin to Public Mobile it took a hour in a half for me try to restart your phone
