Been getting THOUSANDS of spam calls on this number. Most of them saying that they got my number from Koodo, aka Telus... This is extremely aggravating. How do I make it stop?

@MandyD Where is such a feature? I'd love to use that
On iPhone it's in Settings - Phone - Silence Unknown Callers. On my old Android it's Settings - Sounds - Do Not Disturb - Allow Interruptions - Calls - Contacts Only but I think that varies depending on what phone you have. If you do have iPhone and it can run ios 17 then using Live Voicemail might help since it can stop calls going to carrier voicemail.

There is a do not call list that you can put your number on but only stops Legit company from calling you. Won't stop the scamers from India calling. Just Google do not call list if you want to add your number

HI @MandyD
if it is a number you have been using for 10 years , of course no point to get a new number
So, what you can do is to turn on the feature to only allows calls from your contact list and send the rest to voicemail
but with that, you will have to keep a good list of contact yourself

That's why voicemail is important. You can screen your calls. If they don't leave a message, too bad that means it wasn't important. I've had my number 20+ and I will never change it.

@MandyD There’s no point in changing your phone number . It’ just a matter of time any new number will get the same unwanted calls . Best practice as previously said is to not answer unknown callers and ignore it if you don’t answer they will stop calling . It’s when you answer they continue to try and trick you

Unfortunately we all get them. Can only click on the phone number in your call log and click on block.
You can change your phone number in Profile, but they will continue shortly after.....

never answer a call from unknown caller. If it's a legit caller, they'll leave a message and you can return their call. Once the bad guys know you answer any call..well...you found out what happens. It'll take a couple of weeks but after a while, those garbage calls when taper off. I get maybe 1 call a month now.

hi @MandyD spam calls are something everyone facing and even CRTC cant find a way to stop it. So, it is not a Telus problem alone
if it is a new number you just chose when you activate, then login My Account, go to Profile page and get a new number. You can change up to 4 times in a month

@MandyD Unfortunately not much you can do , just don’t answer unknown callers and hope it stops . Could change your phone number but it’s just matter time before you get same spam calls again . If it’s important they will leave a message just ignore it is my suggestion
