Hi,
The US service from the “snowbird plan” is very frustrating: DATA, text and voice. I.e. travelling to Leominster MA, DATA might work, voice doesn't and vis versa as going through the states via hwy 95. Changing networks from auto, T-Mobile and AT&T works for one function but not the others. Others trying to call us while in USA is usually a 95% failure.

If your phone is VoLTE enabled, you won’t have to worry as much about this when travelling in the USA on p.m. roaming plans

Why doesn't PM go 4G on our plan?

Going with T-MobileUS plan for both phones

US is so far away on connectivity. Canada is still in the early 2000!

This will be my solution next Labour day. T-Mobile $108 w taxes cad/month 2 phones 50GB. One of the 2 phones have to buy out the plan. Finally scrap Public Mobile. What a bunch of frustrations. I am an electronics technologist I understand networks

Folks, OP has a Canada/US plan with Public Mobile; it's not an add-on situation, so they shouldn't need to purchase a separate US service. I'm assuming it's one of the legacy 3G plans, but it's possible it's one of the current offerings in Quebec as well.

would recommend manually setting your network to T mobile only
As far as calling, due to the decommissioning of the 3G network in the US, unless your phone is Volte enabled, you need to switch down to 2G on your device if it is capable of that.

If you are to use PM US add-ons while in USA it will cost you arm and leg. Get USA SIM or use voip app.

PM Roaming only works on T-Mobile so set it to T-Mobile.
For snowbirds, I would highly recommend you get the TextNow SIM for free calling and texting without the use of WiFi…I do!
You will need a U.S. CC but PayPal will work and you also need a US address to ship the SIM to.
You will need WiFi to activate the SIM so connect to any free WiFi.

@Andrer098 - oh that is too bad. Could be the area you are in that is the issue. Hopefully things improve. Have you tried restarting the phone, toggle into airplane mode then back again, or a reset of the device's network settings?
I would if the Roaming addons would be more successful? Not saying to buy them, you have a plan that is supposed to cover this service.
