i just purchased a us-canada plan and my iphone 14+ continues to verify my imessage phone number. i cannot send text messages via imessage using my cell number. I have cellular connection , phone works, what’s app works, Facebook works. Just cannot send text messages using cell data. Help please. I have reset the phone many times. It’s been over 24 hours. I also purchase a physical sim and that didn’t work.

The solution found…. In my area Public uses Telus towers. I got a Telus help desk phone number explained the problem. The agent refreshed the Telus network and the problem was fixed. I now have SMS and iMessages. That is 24 hours of frustration m, gone. Thanks you Iris from Telus.

HI @louisecote
at Settings > Apps > Messages > Send & Receive, make sure that your phone number is selected/enabled for Messages. Optionally check your "start new conversations from" is what you want.
or you can also go to Settings-> Phone-> My Number and remove the phone number first, reboot and then go back and put the number back
