Try sending SUBSCRIBE, HELP and/or YES to the short code you are trying to recieve messages from. If you get a reply then test by trying to get a verification code sent out.

@Anonymous

None of the advice you offered above is relevant to this particular problem. Except perhaps trying to restart the device.

The OP's phone service works fine - if it didn't then they would certainly be complaining about it, saying they cannot send or receive any texts to anyone at all, yes?

If the Public Mobile service already works fine then there's nothing Public Mobile can do to fix it - and there's nothing the user can do to fix it.

The OP's banking app/code doesn't work - which has nothing to do with SIM card, network settings, APN settings, or radio protocols.

If the Public Mobile service already works fine and the banking service is snagged on a problem then there's nothing Public Mobile can do to fix it - but the user can go to the bank to get it fixed. If the user is using a messaging app with extended features (iMessage, RCS, etc) then disabling those extra features (using unexciting default plaintext SMS protocol, at least for this one important message) should solve the problem.

(Alternately, the user can get away from TD ripoff, transfer to a credit union. But that's an entirely different bowl of banana slugs.)

 @softech : This new thread says they've been here for about a month.

@Florakaren   you have opened another post couple hours ago,  as explained

@Florakaren  It looks like you just joined PM and possibly ported your number over

It is very normal that shortcodes from financial institutions might not work after porting until couple days later, could be as long as 7 days.  They put in a pause like this to avoid SIM fraud.  Also, some systems do need the couple days to learn that your number has a new "home".

Please wait for another couple days and those shortcodes should come

PM has nothing to do with you not being able to receive short codes.

Were you able to receive these codes before?

Is this first occurrence of not being able to receive short code?
Did you port 'real' land line number to PM or you have genuine mobile phone number?

Are you able to receive short (verification) code from Government of Canada (My Account)?

Public Mobile does not block SMS from 83687.  It works fine, although I do understand that you are not geting the messages to your specific phone number.   Go back to td.com or the TD mobile banking app and try to login again. When prompted, select the option to have the automated system call you instantly with the security code.

@Florakaren

Have you very recently switched to pm? These shortcodes can take 72 hours to be recieved. If you are having a major financial issue you should call your banks fraud department. They are open 24/7.
