I've been with PM for under a month and for the last few days I am unable to receive and send calls/texts. They have informed me that there are outages.
My question is... does this happen a lot, if so how often??? I feel bad because I convinced my mother to switch, and 3 of my kids too...

Reboot and re-seating of the SIM is a great troubleshooting tip.

Try the troubleshooting tips as suggested. Outages with public mobile are not common and if they do experience one it usually affects all telus customers/brands although this sporadic one seems isolated to pm customers and the 3G network or switching to the network from LTE.
Personally I have never experienced an outage in the past two years with public mobile including the recent widespread telus outage affecting bc and Alberta customers.
Would it be wishful thinking that this is somehow related to bringing voLTE to pm?

What is your area code of your phone number?
No problem with southern Alberta 403 numbers.

@Karine203 to be honest, I don't see PM has a lot more outage than other providers. These things happen once in a while. Also, this seems to affect only selected customers only. Hang on to it, wait for PM to resolve this issue fully.
Did you try the workarounds suggested above? Changing to 3G only or use a second phone resolved the issue for many

In the meantime try these. Some have reported success.
1. Try resetting network settings and reboot.
2. Try setting preferred network to 3G and reboot.
3. Put sim in another phone and then back again.

Based entirely on the number or reports in the Community about similar issues, I'm thinking something is going on. I'm sure that Public Mobile is looking into this.

No, this does not happen often. In my 3 years with PM, personally, I have not had any significant outages.
