I tried to sign up for the $40 5g plan using vouchers instead of my debit card because I thought I could skip paying with a debit card. I have no extra money to pay for the service but I have two vouchers and a SIM card I can’t use!!! I’m very disappointed and frustrated by this whole experience.

It seems like the best fix for this situation is to a) borrow somebody else's credit card to make the first payment, pay that person in cash for it, then remove the credit card from the account after the first payment is confirmed or b) buy a prepaid Visa gift card to pay for it with.
I agree with Chalupa Batman, that going into debt and paying interest and maybe some other fees to pay the first bill is a very expensive way to pay for a monthly cellular phone bill. Avoid that option if at all possible.
Good luck!

vouchers cannot be returned for refund. So, it is best to move forward and then use the vouchers later for monthly renewal
you have a debit card? if it is a Visa debit, use it to subscribe. Many debit account has overdraft privilege, if yours has that , it will work
WOW! @Cosmicore I do not recommend that. Telling a customer to go into debt and pay an overdraft fee and interest just to sign up for Public Mobile? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard here on the forums.

Initial sign up HAS to be with credit card; preferable Canadian. All other payments could be by CC or voucher...

sorry @Cosmicore , you have to activate with a credit card or a Visa Debit or MC Debit. Voucher cannot be used for activation. But you can keep the vouchers and use it for renewal after you activate the account

If you did your due diligence @Cosmicore and read up on Public Mobile, you would have seen that you can not sign up with a voucher. You require a credit card. A prepaid credit card can often work as well. You may have to ask a friend to borrow theirs to sign up or when affordable, purchase a prepaid credit card.
