SIM card won't register updated plan

I'm not sure why, but it won't show on my SIM card that my plan got upgraded. I log into my account, and it's updated to the new plan. I tried restarting my phone, removing SIM card then put it back in, and changing SIM card slots. None of it worked, my bank account got charged for the new plan but my SIM card still shows my old plan I was using prior. Please help!

No, it doesn't, although you might be. The 3g and 4g plans are a reference to the speed. Both types of plans can use the LTE network.

@Pandalover yes, the mean your phone will auto switch between 2G/3G/LTE .  This is the correct setting

on your phone status bar on top, does it show LTE or 3G ?

and how long you have made the plan switch ?  it takes 48 hours for the new speed to come

@Pandalover @If you see LTE that means your getting it for your data as you should

The type of network that is being connected to is unrelated to the plan and plan changes. All plans connect to the same networks.

edit LTE is 4G it’s the same thing

My network shows LTE/3G/2G, does that mean I'm already using 4G network speed or still using 3G?

@Pandalover it could be a phone compatibility issue

Samsung A02 does have some 4G bands for PM but does not have all the compatible bands

But, you can still check Preferred network type , follow the steps here.

I'm not sure how I would turn that off, it's not giving me the option to switch from 3G to 4G network speed.

@Pandalover what phone do you have?

It won't give me that option to switch from 3G to 4G network speed. I got updated to the new plan on Jan 13th.

Your calls will still be on 3G your data however should say 4G/ LTE is your network setting set to 4G or LTE also it can take up to 48 hours before you notice a difference in speed

@Pandalover- The sim doesn't show anything like that. Maybe your phone is set to 3G. Set it to 4G/LTE. Maybe you set a maximum for data usage to 3gb. I would just turn it off seeing as how this place doesn't charge anything extra for overages.

It's already showing on my account that my plan updated to the new one. But on the SIM card itself, it hasn't changed over to the 4G speed with 20GB of data. It's still using 3G network speed with 3GB of data. The only thing that changed, was the payment on my bank account.

@Pandalover

when you log in to your account (use incognito mode), and your plan shows as the new plan...then all is well.

There's nothing for you to do with the sim.

Just make sure talk / text / data is working properly. If you upgraded recently to the newer 4G plans, they could take 72 hours for that to change to 4G.
