Roaming in greater Minneapolis/St Paul Area

Jethro_82
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Recently I bought a text and talk package.  I tried at several locations to make calls in M/StP and its suburbs and nowhere could I make a call.  The call just immediately went to a call ended screen.  In Fairness I could send texts that were received by others, and I was informed when I had calls that had gone to voicemail, but I couldn't check voicemail - or make any other calls or see incoming calls.  Any suggestions as to what the issues are?  I make several trips to Minnesota a year.  In the past both the text/talk package has worked for me and paying only for calls has worked for in the area(as has data only).

Critical part to US roaming depends on T-Mobile/AT&T coverage and whether you can connect successfully onto either network.

If the phone is not connecting to T-Mobile/AT&T, change the Network Connection from Automatic to Manual and select and test both T-Mobile and AT&T and see which one you can connect.

With your voice issues, make sure VoLTE is enabled on the device setting.  And if it does not work, try to change the Network to T-Mobile ONLY, and change  Preferred Network Type or Network Mode to 2G and see if the calls go through.
Also, you can download VoIP app TextNow as a workaround to make calls and text if you have Wifi or if your roaming has data component and data  is working

@Jethro_82  Try phone set to 4G/LTE and connect T mobile or AT&T but if still issues with voice try phone set to 2G and connect to T mobile only

Hey @Jethro_82

You have to go into your settings and then networks. Pick T mobile and reboot. Everything should work perfectly. My co-worker was just in Minni this weekend and I told him to do this and he was up and running.
