I recently just switched to PM from Rogers and the whole family did.
experiencing 3G data and no service when in basement. Rogers I was getting steady coverage.
I switched to the 5g 80gb plan
any suggestions on possible fixes or reasons?

Just a guess but maybe your calls were using wifi calling in the basement. Rogers supports wifi calling Public Mobile does not

You might also want to check the nearest cell tower to your main location. Maybe the nearest Telus/Bell tower is further away than the nearest Roger's tower.

What phone do your have?
you mentioned about 3G data, but why 3G if you have a 5G plan? Make sure network mode is set as Automatic And try again. Also try setting the network mode to 4G LTE
