Public Mobile Voicemail Transcription (audio to text/email)

Hello. Is there a way that I could convert (transcribe) my voicemail audio messages into a written message, like as a text/email? I want to read these messages.

Note:

  • If someone calls me and my phone's power is on, I still want to have the option of accepting their call to talk with them.
  • Ideally the method would be free.
  • I created a free YouMail account.
    • I went into my regular talk app, dialed *67*[10 digit deposit number from YouMail]# (without the brackets), and pressed "call". My screen then showed an error: "Call forwarding. Connection problem or invalid MMI code.”
    • I'm unable to install the YouMail app from Google Play. If I try to go to this webpage on my phone, only "Try Again" will show on my screen.
  • My phone: ASUS Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL). It's an Android.
  • My Public Mobile plan: $15.00 autopay per month for 250 MB at 3G speed. I don't have a long-term contract.

Thank you!

I now realized that my university removed access to Google Play for university gmail accounts of all past students, including myself. On my phone, I now logged into a different gmail account and I was able to install the Notta app and the YouMail app.

Thank you everyone for the help.

@Leaf4499   give it once more try, go to the App store and search Notta Transcribe Audio to Text

Thank you everyone for the help so far. Maybe I'll try putting my phone on speaker mode and then holding my phone next to my laptop's microphone. I could use Google Translate (https://translate.google.com/) on my laptop to convert the voicemail audio to text.

Hi softech. Thank you. On my phone, I now tried to access the Notta app by clicking on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.langogo.transcribe. However, only "Try Again" appears on my screen. Maybe it's not compatible with my device.

@Leaf4499   no Asus phone on PM's VoLTE compatible list

I think you need to look into having the app to record and convert to text

Hi dust2dust. I now looked at https://www.asus.com/ca-en/support/FAQ/1047568/ to determine how to enable VoLTE. However, VoLTE does not appear in my phone’s settings. Maybe my phone is too old.

Has your phone been enabled for volte yet? If not then the base problem you're having is the broken conditional call forwarding. If you do have volte then apparently support can fix the call forwarding.

@Leaf4499   There is no visual voicemail or so service like that.

But how about help with some app?

Notta Android App is one of them:

I think the have it for iOS as well

@Leaf4499

I do not believe PM has Visual Voicemail capability, yet.

We can continue to hope though... it really would be a great offering.
