Hello,
May be someone can explain what is going on. Every day I receive a call from xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (I tried to call back and it never worked, nobody picks up the phone). I have blocked the number long time ago and now those calls go to the voicemail. This is a huge inconvenience because ideally I would not want to receive _any_ call from this number a and just forward it to hell but looks like it is impossible.
When I check my voicemail I always hear the same "press 1 to send this call to the voice mail or press 1 to hang up" and I dont understand where it is coming from. Can someone shed some light on this strange situation?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for all suggestions, unfortunately nowadays changing the number almost impossible due to amount of work to be done not to break many, many things - more than 90% of online/health/other services use two factor authentication or link your account to the phone number (ebay, paypal, your bank, public mobile, google - the list is 1 mile long).
More often than not they dont give you a choice not to provide the number (for example paypal, google etc) you either give the number or stop using the service. In case of paypal I tried to offer a landline number - they insisted on cell phone number.
Public Mobile is in the same boat now - they enforce authentication via SMS, they require now the forum account to the be linked to your Public Mobile account. So, if before I could login to my account from Europe (as I did when I stuck there during Covid) and pay for the bill not to lose the number now it is impossible because I will not receive the SMS.
I dont know why they do that but when opportunity presents I will switch to a different, simpler (administrative wise), provider the one like Public Mobile was in the past.
And no, as a matter of fact, all this complexity neither improve the security nor quality of service. Instead it would be better if Public Mobile gave its users a way to block spammers like Ooma does.
Last but not least: @ computergeek541 please dont redact the offender's number +1 (778) 771 2896. This is not disclosure of personal information (unless you know who it is and redacted it on purpose - then tell us the name of the hero, please). My number is on DNCL list and the people calling daily from this number are violating the DNCL rules. If the calls continue, I am going to contact DNCL Support Centre and will refer to this post as a proof that I already contacted my service provider and tried to resolve the issue with their help.
Thank you for understanding and cooperation.

Yes I have been getting calls from this exact same number every day for the past week. Called the number back, but no one picked up and no voicemail and the ring tone was a bit different than usual. Spam call

hi @ALL481
unfortunately, there is really nothing more you can do. You can block the calls but as your experienced, the call will be sent to voicemail
Sorry, unless you want to change your phone number
