Porting from Freedom to Public

I'm transferring from Freedom to Public, and when transferring my old number I received a text that says:

Hey, it's Public Mobile. We're having trouble transferring your number. Looks like you entered an incorrect account number. Someone from our team will contact you shortly using your original phone number or the alternate number provided. You can also get in touch via our virtual assistant at: https://publicmobile.ca.ada.support/chat

I'm able to receive calls and texts on my Freedom SIM, and I can only make outgoing calls on my Public SIM (does not receive texts/calls). I'm still waiting for CS to reply to my private message and I'm anxious about losing my old phone number. Does this seem typical for a number transfer?
