@Kayfun101 made me wonder about the PC Mobile plans and I had a quick look and PM seems to bury them on pricing.
Example: Unlimited Canada-wide calling, global texting, and ~2GB per month:
Public Mobile:
90 day Canada-wide, Global, 6GB = $135 / 90 days = $45.63 per calendar month
PC Mobile Post-paid:
UNLIMITED NATIONWIDE TALK & TEXT, PLUS - $44 with no data! Add $5 for up to 500MB of data, $10 for up to 1GB of data, or $20 for up to 2GB of data! Cost with 2GB data = $64 / month, or $18.37 PER MONTH more than PM
PC Mobile Pre-paid:
Unlimited nationwide calling and texting is $50/month, plus you pay for data on top of that. The most they offer is 1GB of data for $30 (the same $/GB as as PM's outrageous--sorry--add on pricing). So on pre-paid it's even worse, you pay $80/month, $34.37 more than PM per month, and get half the data.
BAM.
Nuff said.
🙂

@thymasrer just curious why you're even here? Obviously you don't feel PM offers you any value. Between all my rewards the the PM price I pay is actually pretty amazing. 🤑
This is a general discussion forum. You're right PM don't offer me any value that's worth switching so I'm here to input my thoughts of how PM can do to make a difference.
It seems like everyone here is hostile when it comes to competitive price plans.

It seems like everytime I bring up competitive pricing this PM community gets histerical and offended by it. PM rate plans are somewhat comparable to their competitors but nothing great nor worth the time switching to. Compared to PM competitors, their plans might be slightly higher but they offer other better services to compensate for the minor price increase, like a quick responsive call in center. I think PM can do better if they distance their branding because right now I just see another Fido wannabe start up company.

@thymaster most of the Canadian providers have a few special plans for certain provinces (typically Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba), due to those provinces having some regional players that require more competitive pricing, and yet will gouge the rest of the country with higher prices for the same services. PM appears to have made a conscious decision to level the playing field and charge everyone in Canada the same price. For most of us, this means we're getting, on the whole, some very good prices relative to the other providers. For folks in Quebec and/or Manitoba and/or Saskatchewan, PM may not always be as compelling due to the increased competition in their provinces.

It's still competitive nationwide if you include Quebec.
Overall, it typically has better prices than other providers.
You can't compare Public Mobile's nationwide plans vs. a Quebec exclusive Fido plan and say that means PM isn't competitive nationwide.
If you compare Public Mobile's nationwide plans vs Fido's nationwide plans, it's clear who wins.

I believe these are the Quebec only plans.
PM offers extremely competitive national plans, and I love them 🙂So excluding Quebec out of the nation is competitive?
So not including Quebec is nationwide competitive. Ok I understand the double standards.

Those must be another area. Fido - Ontario is above and clearly PM blows them out of the water.
the higher Gb are higher prices than above...

I think the real question is: Can Fido beat PM? 🙂
I don't think any other provider will come close to providing 2GB for $38/mth
