Oh no! It looks like something went wrong, but don’t panic.

Tried to port number earlier today but system got failed after providing credit card information and brought me to that fancy screen.

As of now: It says sim card invalid upon attempting registration again and disallow me from accesing account nor reseting the password on the account. It says failed to do so.

Not sure what to do next though... It looks like it didn't charge credit card but sim card looks bricked and old sim card works still...

Any ideas?

So, the issue got resolved by moderators team.

Here is what happened after I PMed them late night yesterday:

- midnight Telus cancelled my account and confirmed and sent me notification that number got ported

- around lunch time PublicMobile fixed number porting

- account hadn't been created and I was needed to recreate an account manually at self-serve interface

- going to check auto payments right now but I don't think it's been configured.

So, if you run into issue when phone number porting failed you need to contact moderators to fix an issue and wait for some time until they fix an issue which can take up to 72 hours...

Huge recommendation for ones who wants to port number - get a new number instead first and only after that port your number from self serve interface. It will eliminate the scenario I ran into and save you some time and won't make you spread negative emotions all around only because of some minor failures may occure.

good luck to everyone

This too happened to me with one of the accounts I was trying to set up for my family. I just waited 24 hours, then went on the site again and tried the whole process all over. It worked fine this second time around. The key is waiting for at least 24 hours before attempting once again.

Hoping this helps.

Cheers.

the thing is that system marked SIM is activated and it fails to activate it again.

Moderators team contacted and I'm waiting for their resoution now. We will see how long it will take to responsd and resolve an issue.

Good idea but it didn't work out this time.

Forgot to metion that I received text message to my phone that I have referral onboarded.

Just weird it broke in the middle and now even self-serve service inaccessible...

@katsumoto You said: "It looks like it didn't charge credit card". Did you actually check your credit card payments or just assume it did not go through?

If a charge was made, your activation is partial and the SIM has been registered to your inaccessible account. This situation will require moderators' assistance as suggested by ZfromVanC.

If no charge has been done, you should, as already suggested by geopublic, be able to activate in a few hours. In this case I suggest you activate with a new number initially. Once the account is operating properly you can port-in your number from within your account. Suggested reading for pessimists: BE PREPARED

Sometimes you need to wait for an hour and then try again and it should work.

Alright, looks like this is one the Moderators will have to help you with. You can contact them through here:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

It can take up to 48 hours to hear back from them, as they can be pretty busy. But they can rectify the issue for you.

First thing to try is to use a different browser or use private browsing mode.
