Not receiving incoming calls from Roger’s after number porting

After porting my number over from Roger’s, I am not receiving incoming calls from Roger’s customers. They just get a message saying the number is unavailable. All other phones are able to call me.

Finally after trying several things, the problem is resolved. I filed a ticket with Public Mobile, went through diagnosing with them to no avail. They then handed it over to a member of their tech team and they sorted out the problem.

@Smitty31 are you able to test your Public Mobile SIM in another phone and request the Rogers customer to try calling you back? Not sure it will help but I've heard the simple action of placing a SIM card in another device will force the SIM card to be reprovisioned, worth trying if you have access to another phone. I've read online you can also try a Network reset on the device though it doesn't look like others have had any success with it. Something else I read said that some customers changed their phone number and then their contacts on Rogers were able to call them with the new number.

@Smitty31  I tried calling Roger’s earlier today, but they were NOT willing to help at all.

That's too bad (I came here from Rogers too).  Hopefully Public Mobile agents can figure it out.  An agent will reply to your ticket/message at the envelope icon top right of this page, or tap your avatar to access Messages if no envelope.  They often respond within the hour but it may take longer.

@Smitty31   If it was that long ago then maybe you'll want to contact Public Mobile customer service by opening a ticket at the chat icon bottom right of this page.  If that doesn't work you can send support a private message using this link

Not sure if it would help but perhaps contacting Rogers might be a possibility since it's their callers who are having the issue.

@Smitty31 how long has it been since porting over? It could be that the port is not 100% complete or maybe try restarting your phone. Are you able to call the Rogers numbers?

I actually came from Roger’s about 8 months ago. Just hadn’t realized this was an issue until now.

hi @Smitty31

was the porting just completed today or yesterday?  did you come from Rogers?

Reboot the phone once more time and test

but sometimes it take couple hours, so try reboot the phone after couple hours and test again

@Smitty31   Just to confirm, you are able to receive calls from Bell/Virgin/Lucky/PC Mobile as well as Telus/Koodo/Public Mobile, or just the latter group?
