@Beast   curious, how much you pay for the S20 Ultra?

darlicious

@Beast

Well that's supposed to mean the device has been tested and repaired if necessary, cleaned and sanitized and certified to be in good working order. But it's relatively easy for a device to be blacklisted its exceptionally hard to get it removed unless you are the person who blacklisted it. Return as soon as possible.

When I picked it up at Walmart, it was delivered to Walmart by Canada Post which surprised me.

Now I understand why.

@Meow , @Beast

Truth is that Bestbuy Marketplace and Walmart Marketplace are  just eBay.. So, anyone can setup a business and get in.  Walmart/Bestbuy/eBay might kick out those problematic retails out if too many complains afterward.. but these retailers can setup another business name and start new again.

The service is almost like Kijiji, the only thing better than Kijiji is that you still can open a case and very likely the purchase will be settled by a refund.  Buy at own risk.

How do you know that whoever put it on black list will not do it again, just in spite to annoy somebody?

As suggested, I would return that phone to walmart asap. How do you know battery is in good condition or was it opened and glued back again.

I understand you migrated apps, etc. to new phone but maybe that is price to pay to get really new/virgin phone instead of worse than kijiji deal.

I don't know the status on this phone. But the Walmart email has "Certified Refurbished" as the asset name.

What does that mean, I'm not sure.

Wal-Mart has a 90 day warranty on all refurbished electronics and most third party sellers have a 30 day return policy.

What should I do if the third party seller is non-responsive or if I’m not satisfied with their response?

We value our customers and strive to offer the best customer experience every day. Therefore, if the third party seller did not respond to your inquiry within 3 business days or if you are not satisfied with the response from the seller, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service team. WOW! So walmart sold you lost or stolen phone????? I guess you did not actually bought from walmart retail (brick and mortar store) but from whoever is on their on-line portal. Same issue with best-buy on-line portal... not even best-buy employee are shopping there.

I'll see if the seller sends me an email or not.

I understand your concern.  But again, there is a risk it could be back on the blacklist months later.   At the time, the retailer could have been gone

Anyway, come back and update us with the info.  Hope all this get settled quick

If it is sold online its a good chance its a third party seller if it's not something they regularily sell in store.

Yes, these days, Bestbuy and Walmart both have marketplace and some of the retailers are not reliable.  But you are lucky, it's via Warlmart still and you wouldn't need to worry about refund.

But trust me , ask for refund and not to get it off blacklist, you never know, they can take it off now, but i can be back on months later.  Many people used it no problem for months and then somehow the original owner reported it and put it on blacklist

I spend a full day doing Samsung Smart Switch migrating my Apps and profile settings.

I don't want to do it again.

I try the seller first.

Samsung Customer services said that Walmart can take it off the black list. It should be easy to do.

We'll see.  I have an invoice from Walmart.

Was it really sold by Walmart or sold by 3rd party retailers on Walmart marketplace?

honest, I would not go through the trouble taking it off blacklist , i would just ask them for refund.  Easier that way and can buy it again elsewhere

you need to go back to Walmart and return it and buy it another device.

That may be harder than you think. What is the return policy on the phone? If you can it may be easier to wash your hands of the phone if you can and just look for another device.

Have you replied YES to the (PAT) porting authorization text from telus yet? If not you can test your new phone with the telus sim card. If the telus sim card works then you know the device is good and you can reply YES to the PAT. If the pm sim card doesn't work in the new phone then it likely didn't provision upon activation. Enter that in the subject line of your message to customer support and leave a detailed message of your issue. If the telus sim card doesn't work but your telus account has not closed then you definitely have a device issue.

You bought from Walmart Marketplace , right? If so, marketplace is not really sold by Warlmart but just from other retailers who setup shops there, but you do get good protection.  I would still good the the devicecheck website to check for peace of mind.  (we heard many stories before  😞

and what exact error you got?

@Beast   What exactly was the error?  No SIM? SIM not provisioned? No Network? or asking for PUK code?

Is the SIM working on another phone?

Do you have SIM from another provider and does it work in this new phone?

Where you got this phone from?  was it from a trusted source or was it from private sell?  If from private sell, make sure you check if the phone is blacklisted or not
