Yes, ordered a pre-owned phone from PM on Saturday, received it Tuesday. Pretty smooth service overall. Phone is in immaculate condition, so far no issues.

@SoG   Great!  did you get the phone from PM ?  CPO phone there?  how fast it took you to receive the phone?

Removed new SIM card, rebooted phone, and service is working now!

Thank-you!

@SoG did you try rebooting the phone?

since it is new phone and new SIM, maybe try to put the SIM in another phone or try another working SIM in this new phone.  Just to make sure where is the weakest link

@SoG

Try rebooting the phone. If that doesn't work. Toggle airplane mode on/off.

Edit:

Still no joy? Test the new sim card in your phone and report back your results.

My son has a new phone and new SIM. Followed the instructions, entered new sim and security verification code, verified code. Account says that it's active and now showing the new SIM card #, but still no service on his phone.

Anything else we need to do?

Hope you have tried changing the phone with the same SIM card too before you change it.

Sometimes the re-seating of SIM can fix these network issues.

@burrowingeye  how do you know it is the SIM card that is the issue without trying the SIM into another phone and seeing if the problem persists?

Can you remove the SIM card and gently wipe it clean. Then, gently blow into the SIM slot opening. There could be debris lodged somewhere affecting your service.

Toggling to airplane mode can also help some Network issues.

Performing a RESET of your NETWORK SETTINGS sometimes fixes finicky things.

This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Yes, you can order new SIM, replace failing and keep service/number.

But before that, search forum for advises how to deal with ill behaving SIMs.

Try to reseat it, clean contacts, etc. Try your SIM in another phone. Maybe your phone is failing and it is not SIM issue?

@burrowingeye    Perhaps try some troubleshooting tips before purchasing a new SIM.

Good thinking 88.

Maybe try that sim in a different phone for a couple of hours or even longer if possible.

Take the sim card outta the phone and give it a rub with the clean eraser on top of pencil.

@burrowingeye    Perhaps try some troubleshooting tips before purchasing a new SIM.  Maybe you need to submit a ticket to customer support to reprovision your SIM/account.  You can also first try changing your network settings to 3G/WCDMA temporarily as Telus is upgrading equipment in some regions which is impacting service.

You can submit a ticket via the chatbot bubble bottom right of screen or send a private message to CS_Agent via the envelope icon top right to take a look at your account.

Here's couple of links for customer support: https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html

@burrowingeye Yes, you can get a new SIM card from any Mobile retail.

Just an advise, DO NOT order the SIM from PM online as it will take LONG for delivery.  Check local mobile stores like Loblaws/Walmart/Koodo/London Drugs

Once you have the card , login  to My Account and click Change SIM Card and following the 2FA security to complete
