I have a problem - > NO RINGING SOUND ON OUTGOING CALLS TO MOBILE PHONE OR LANDLINE

I have a LG G8 ThinQ phone.

I have noticed this issue after changing my phone plan.

FROM  $27 ULCW Base Plan-6GB Data-4G to

 $26 ULCW Base Plan-20GB Data-4G Purchased Apr 19, 2025

I put the sim card in an iPhone Se and same problem. This eliminates the phones as the problems.

I have reset the network setting a few times - no success

I was with Petro-Canada Mobility for 14 years which transitioned to good2go mobile and never had this issue.

Using 2 different phones and the same sim card have the same problem, this issue points to your network.

If this cannot be resolved I will have to find a new provider.

Your price and data bundle is only good if I can make calls properly.

Had this same problem on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8....

No rings on my end during outgoing calls...
Incoming calls would sometimes ring or only ring after a few rings depending on source number for caller...

Tried a second factory reset Note 8 with my SIM card  and a Note 9 same issue... BUT!
If I put the physical SIM in a newer phone - tested with a Note 20 everything worked properly!

Realized this is a phone specific issue so directly messaged CS_Agent - Agent did a network reset and the issue was completely resolved on Note 8...

I do have an lingering issue I need to address as VOIP numbers do not ring through to my number - ring for caller and goes to VM.
If *67 is dialed before my number to do a per call block calls go through without issue.
Also switched to another Factory Reset Note 8 and still same issue... Put SIM card in Note 20 also and calls go through no problem....

so, you are just trying to get support from the Community to pressure PM?  

We are just customers here, whatever we say about the compensation does not matter.  You should simply reply and request some compensation.  Some worked, some failed, but ask nicely and ask to escalate.  Good Luck

I swapped sim cards from my wife's phone also a PM user. We have the same phones and both with public mobile and also tried in an iPhone SE - ISO.


Her PM SIM card in her phone or my LG G8 ThinQ & iPhone SE phone, a ringing is heard when making a call on the PM network.

My PM SIM in my LG G8 ThinQ phone - no ringing on outgoing calls.
My PM SIM in my wife's LG G8 ThinQ phone - no ringing on outgoing calls.
My PM SIM in an iPhone SE - no ringing on outgoing calls.

3 different phones - Android & ISO (Apple) with same issue with the same SIM card.

THIS POINTS TO THE PM SIM AND OR PM NETWORK.
Eliminating phones and operating systems.

Would replacing the 4+ month old SIM be a solution ?

In this case, I doubt changing the SIM will fix the issue

-the type of phone that you have and the OS version:

-2-3 examples of phone numbers you tried to call including the date and time of the call:

Are the other services working? (text messages, data)

Asking for phone and OS version and numbers called WAS A WASTE OF TIME as the problem was narrowed down to the PM SIM AND OR PM NETWORK.

THE SOLUTION suggested by my wife. Buy a new SIM.

I bought a NEW Public Mobile SIM
(CS_Agent ->> I doubt changing the SIM will fix the issue)

I scanned the SIM card number bar code, and cut and pasted the number.

Changed SIM card Number in my Public Mobile account on my desktop computer.

RESTARTED the PHONE with new the SIM card - I now hear ringing when I make an outgoing call.
THE SIM card was the issue.
The CS_Agent did not help with the solution.

The Public Mobile prices, the mobile app showing data use are great. I was almost ready to find another provider. If SIM cards only last 4 months, I might find a new provider.

If you run into the same issue of outgoing calls NOT ringing when making the call try what I did. Put your SIM in other phones, if you have the same issue – it is not the phone or operating system – but the SIM card.
If this saved you time and frustration, please reply or like this posting.

You can get a Public Mobile SIM on Amazon for $4.99 or $10 plus tax at a retailer like TELUS.

find the CS_agent message and reply there and they will sort it out.  But PM is now closed for the night, you can still reply now, but they will reply you tomorrow morning

My wife also has the same model of phone - LG G8 ThinQ bought 6 months later.

She can call my cell phone and home phone and it rings on her device using her Public mobile number 604-XXX-XXXX to my cell 

This test could suggest a sim card issue and or your network.
