My pm sim card is not working

I activated my sim yesterday in store. Since then my new sim is not working. My old sim( from another operator) stopped working right away. My phone is samsung s7. It's compatible and unlocked. APN settings are correct. What can I do?

Try simple things to verify that your sim is working.

 

1.Go under Settings: Network.. to SIM.  Ensure your active SIM slot ids as Public Mobile. (I'm assuming this is a single SIM - if not ensure your sim card is in SIM 1 slot)

 

2. Under Settings: Network: Mobile networks ensure 2G/3G/4G is selection as preferred network for the sim card.

 

3.  Last under access point names ensure public mobile is selected.  You may have 3 listed for the sim : Telus, Koodo and PM.

 

Lastly, just double check the PM APN settings.  Good luck.

Try taking it out and seeing if it’s damaged you might need to get a new sim card

You could be there for hours since number porting isn't instant.

1.  Is Public Mobile showing on your notification bar?

2.  What is working and not working?  calls/texts/data/none working?

 

If your texts is not working, you probably did not created your self serve account yet.

Can you call 611?

If yes, add $1 to your account using the credit card on file to trigger PM server to provision your account again.  Please report reseult and more info.

Who is your old "operator"...what cell network did you subscribe to. If you're porting a voip number, it could take a week or more to complete. If it was a landline, it also could take a week-ish. More info please.

Don't cancel the old plan until port is complete.

APN is only to get data working. This could be a provisioning issue. The Public Mobile sim should work even port isn't complete. You old sim only stopped work affer you made the port request?

First try rebooting the phone.

 

You can also power off phone, remove your SIM and wait 5 mins and re-insert and restart your phone.
