My phone is stuck on verifying in imessage

ZiggyNeat

I recently changed from lucky to public and ported my number over. In my iPhone general settings then iMessage my number is stuck on verifying. I figured it was a porting issue so in the public app I changed my number to a new one, but the issue is still occurring. Super frustrating. Any tips?

Here is what solved the problem for me:

-turned iMessage off

-turned FaceTime off

-powered phone off

-removed sim card

-let phone sit overnight with power off and sim card removed

-re-inserted sim card

-powered back on

-turned FaceTime back on

-turned iMessage back on

At the problem was gone!

I will do that and let you know what the fix was.

Thanks again

hi @J_O

ok.  it is a text issue. When you activated? Some had text problem from activation and caused the trouble with iMessage validation

Support agent can help.  Please message them here and tell them you cannot send and receive text sms

Yes I can receive phone calls and I can make outgoing calls.  I can send and receive iMessages to and from fellow iOS users.  I cannot send or receive normal (green) text messages to or from non-iPhone (android) users.

hi @J_O

can you receive inbound calls as well as inbound SMS (basic sms, not iMessage)

Thank-you for taking time to reply.

I can't do anything.  In iMessage it's stuck on "verifying.." my number  so I am unable to delete.     It eventually says ""imessaage activation" "an error occurred during activation".   I've tried re-booting, removing nano-sim and rebooting.  I've also tried shutting iMessage and FT off then turn airplane mode on and then do same steps in reverse.  No luck.

hi @J_O

you just need to go to iMessage settings, remove the phone number first.   Reboot and wait 5 mins, go back to iMessage settings and enter the number back

I'm having the same problem.  Were you able to resolve it?  If so, how?

@ZiggyNeat

PM is having problem provisioning text capability for new activations.  And since you are an iPhone user,  iMessage activation by phone number will also be impacted without a working SMS.

PM is working on a fix but for now, they can only resolve the issue on a case by case basis.  Please open ticket with PM support by messaging CS Agent here:
