Leaving Public Mobile to go to Shaw Mobile.

The phone is locked to PM. I need PM's SIM network unlock pin. Is it 1234 or something else?  Can the moderator provide the PUK code as well in case I need it while at the Shaw store?

That is possible, but why not just have Public Mobile do it, especially if the person is already a customer?

A SIM Network Unlock PIN will never be 1234 or any other number that you can guess. It also actually has nothing to do wtih your SIM card or Public Mobile account, nor is it the same as a PUK code.

Public mobile has not sold phones for a while. Are you sure that the phone is locked to Public mobile?  The original carrier can unlock the phone for free.  

 

If it is indeed locked to PM, you will need to contact moderator as described above.

@lcouling Contact the moderators and ask them to unlock it for you. It's probably locked to either Koodo or Telus. There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Faster response- Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Slower- Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.

Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password.  Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.

- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen.  The mods answer will show up there.  When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

What kind of phone is it? Was it purchased through Public Mobile? The original selling carrier is the only option to have it unlocked. The cost to unlock a phone that was purchased in Canada is $00.00.
